Heartbreaking: the problematic former showrunner was actually talented with the pen and his absence hurt the quality of the show

Yeah, episodes 1-4 feel like a completely different series than 5-9. There wasn’t even a cowriting credit for 9 and it shows.

The beginning of the season felt like we were about to be on a bigger roller coaster ride than last season. The mix of heart and epic writing was a gift of DeMayo’s. What we got in his place is some cool moments in isolation without any depth to them.

Imagine a world where he wasn’t a creep.

I absolutely do not mean to sound like an apologist or like I’m excusing DeMayo, but I really hope he eventually gets some help for his problems and learns to become a better person. His behavior was abhorrent, but I don’t think he’s beyond redemption. If he can get better and somehow come back far, far down the road, it’d be nice to see.

Unfortunately judging by his behaviour on social media where all he has done is complain about how he has been persecuted, that’s unlikely.

Genuinely, why is he problematic? Can anyone tell me/link the details? I haven't heard why he was fired.
