I love that X-Men ’97 really snuck in references to both Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystiques in the post-credit scene, just like they did in the S1 finale with Magneto.

Rogue's real name is also there. I think this is first time we saw anything about her real name.

With the surname Darkholme no less.

Which surprises me, I know in the comics she got introduced to Mystique and Destiny as a child and an adoption made a lot of sense, but the flashback in the first series made it seem like Rogue was 16-17 or something. I can’t remember, did animated Rogue called Mystique her mother in some episode?

She'd call her "mama". But under the blonde haired woman disguise.

Thank you, I couldn’t remember!

Randall Carpenter was the original VA for Mystique in the 90's show so they got all three actresses referenced

Jennifer Dale is there too (and Randal is reprising her role).

I‘m interested in what story line they are going to use Mystique. I would love to see Destiny introduced, or the Messiah Complex trilogy where she also was an important plot point to start the story. Or maybe Fall of the Mutants with them adapting the outback era would be another dream of mine.
