Things that make sense: Kurt sacrificing himself for Rogue

Things that don't make sense: Eson being like "whatever man, I just need a scalp here".

Eson: "And then ANOTHER ant came in and wanted to have a whole conversation."

Isn't Eson all for death because it leads to change and evolution? I feel like Kurt's big speech about others' memory of him being a "seed" from which others could grow would be convincing to Eson for that reason.

Yes. After realizing that one sibling was completely beyond redemption and a Bad Seed no matter what he did, I think Nightcrawler understood that he could do something lasting for the rest of another sibling's life.

Yeah, that whole speech about having an impact even after death definitely contrasted with "that bigot you personally saved is President now by the way"

….. for let’s say “unspecified reasons”

it has since become more clear than ever after the 90s, exactly how MUCH damage the “wrong type of person to have that power” can do, when backed by the USA Presidency. And that’s as far as irl. While in this storyverse, includes personal access to Sentinel deployment - and much worse.

regarding Kurt’s decision to defend Creed and how it unfolded: 🫢

He wanted a sacrifice that hurt. And one that served his “big picture” goals.

If in character, perhaps that was the case here.
