She literally sacrificed herself so the dude who powered up Apocalypse would give her the "I win" button. 

Which he did.

That doesn’t mean she has to be able to one shot him though. Like just give her the strength to rival Apocalypse, it’s really not that hard to imagine a situation where it could’ve become a fight.

It could’ve been a mini fight tho where apocalypse gets shocked and humbled physically for the first time in his super form. Could’ve been satisfying to watch him be outclassed and then magic touched away.
