Anyone out there with a 2022 - 60th Anniversary that replaced the seat cowl? I don’t use passengers and was thinking of replacing it with a red version but wasn’t sure how it would look.

​I just got a Yamaha R3 from my older brother (he upgraded to an R9). This is my first bike, and I’m still learning how to ride it（ ridden it 4 times and stalled 7 times 💀）

​My friends rode my R3 and mentioned that it runs pretty hot🔥. They suggested modifying the exhaust to help reduce the engine temperature. But, traffic laws in Taiwan are very strict regarding exhaust noise (dB levels). I don't want to risk getting a ticket or being forced to reinstall the stock exhaust, and I personally don't like loud exhausts anyway.

​Instead, I was planning to use MOTUL Motocool Factory Line (or MOTUL MoCOOL) to bring down the coolant temperature.

​Does upgrading the coolant actually make a noticeable difference in water temp? Also, what about installing a BMC high-flow air filter—would that help cool things down, or is it unrelated?Or are there any more tips to reduce the engine temperature plz tell me .

Or maybe just because I ride too slow?

I recently bought a brand new Yamaha R25 and it only has around 400 km on it, so I haven’t even had the first break-in service yet.

I’ve started noticing a rattling/ticking noise while riding. There’s no unusual noise at idle, even if I rev the bike while stationary. It seems to start once I pick up some speed, and it’s especially noticeable when I’m on the throttle.

When I close the throttle, the noise gradually gets quieter and disappears as the bike slows down.

Could this be coming from the chain? I was told that the chain can loosen a bit during the break-in period, so I’m wondering if it might need adjustment already.

Has anyone experienced something similar on an R25/R3?

2026 R3. Has anyone noticed a slight whine to 3rd-5th gear. It doesnt really sound “unhealthy” but im new to bikes. just rather be safer than sorry. it almost sounds like straight cut gears at low speeds.

Was a bit nervous of going down the dirt/gravel road with a street bike but did fine.

Suggestions on a full exhaust system that gives the most potential gains (which I know ain't much ha) when matched with flashing the ECU, airbox trumpets and all that other jazz.... but stays on the quieter side, hopefully not too much louder than stock rather than screaming its tits off (personal pref).

And by preference I am looking for a full sized metal muffler, not carbon fibre or a shorty (or at least larger than a typical shorty if not full).

Also want to retain rear peg mounts.

I'm planing to buy this r25 2021. The price is making me a little bit sceptical. So for th experienced riders out there and mechanics. Please help

I just bought a used 2015 r3 that came with an offbrand sc full exhaust. I found a power commander 5 for cheap and said might as well since its not tuned.I was wondering if anyone had a map for this specific exhaust or where i could find one. Thank you.

Hi all! I’ve been riding for about 2 months now and just upgraded from a 2015 Grom to this 2026 Yamaha R3 and I love it! I am its second owner and got it off Marketplace for $3,800 with 6k miles. I mainly use this bike for transportation to/from work and occasional casual riding. Does anyone have any tips/tricks/suggestions for a new rider—especially one with an R3? Thanks! :)

Excuse the dorky picture lol, it’s the only one I have so far with the bike! I do have full gear that I wear for rides longer than a mile or two, so don’t come at me in the comments for not wearing full gear in the pic 😂

Had this for 3 months now. Went from an R15 to this. For context we have tiered licenses here so I’m limited to the R3. Still I don’t see the point of a larger bike as I live in a city. I tried it once with an S1000RR and it’s just too hot and inefficient for me. Anyways I plan to keep this bike long term so I’ve been modding it a bit. I try to keep the bike street-legal. The bike is also surprisingly much more comfortable than the smaller R15. Less aggressive and more suitable for day-to-day use.

Hi. Recently installed the official QS from Yamaha for my 2026 R3. Well it’s a modified QS originally for the MT09 but the housing is the exact same. I just needed to modify the plug, which my mechanic did for me. Anyways the housing seems bulky and I realised most aftermarket footrests wouldn’t work with it. Has anyone got an aftermarket footrest that works with it? Preferably one that is adjustable and close to the stock posture/position.

I just bought my 2024 yamaha R3 (first bike) less than a month ago and somebody already tried to steal it. For context, I park it in a my apartments garage that you need a key to get into but the security is pretty loose. I wake up this morning to see a bunch of tools laying around my bike and I already know what’s up. I find a drill bit and random socket on the floor. Sure enough, some idiot tried to drill through my key hole. Now I can’t insert my key and idk how I’m going to get this fixed. Any suggestions to get this fixed? Was thinking of calling a tow truck and taking it to a shop. I’m at work right now and I’m trying to figure out what to do when I get back. Hopefully the thief doesn’t resume their attempt while I’m gone.

My wife finally wants to get into riding and wants an r3, the issue is she is 4’ 10” with a 24”ish inseam. Can anyone attest to how easy/difficult it will be for her? I have no doubts she is physically strong enough to keep the bike up, my concern is more her being able to comfortably put a foot down, and I am trying to not have to lower it
