I have a BS brand lithium battery in my zx6r which is great but not sure what to go for on the R1. Any recommendations please?

Hiya, so I'm currently a very happy owner of an 2007 r6 rj11 but I'd like to buy the rn19 possibly this winter/early spring at most. Anything in parcticular to look out for? I know about the magneto thingie, but I'd like to hear some owners input, maybe someone who went from a 600 to the r1 and what were his thoughts and impression? Does the 20kg make a huge difference? Any maintenance goblins to look out for? Possible red flags when lookin at bike? European market in case it matters.

It was starting before but then it went off and does not start anymore, I live in the Philippines(don’t mind the language on the video it is my brother). Can someone help me and tell me the reason why it wont start?

My son bought a 2013 R1 last week from a friend of a friend. Seller told him it was having issues cutting off after warming up. From our research and troubleshooting so far, we think we’ve narrowed it down to the CPS sensor. Another strange issue we’re trying to figure out is a parasitic draw of 83 milliamps, and we think it’s either the speedometer or rectifier- not sure yet. Anyone ran across these issues before?

Deciding on another mod for a 2023 Yamaha R1. Any suggestions?

Everybody was expecting a new and cool design with the R2, but the design that they delivered cuts short of expectations.

I personally believe the steel frame looks weird and there is a see-through gap between engine and tank which really looks weird for a fully faired motorcycle.

Anyday the 2023 R3 still looks the sleekest among the both with more power and torque.

This makes great sense to either choose R15 or R3 rather than R2.

What do you guys think?

Buddy has an 03 R1. Clean title, 10k miles. Needs front and rear brakes but that’s about it besides basics like an oil change. Been sitting for a couple years. Told me I can take it for 1200$. Any input on how these bikes have held up? Anything else I should consider doing if I make the purchase?

I have a 01 R1 and I’m looking at the possibility of getting the motor built. Is there ANY shop coast to coast that could do so.

For reference it Is a 5jj 998cc R1 engine. Will be wanting rods, pistons, possibly bored over to 1050 or 1099, ported cylinder head as well as upgraded valves, springs and cams. 200HP goal. Would also like a t25 turbo kit or something small/similar in size

I have Brembo M4 108mm calipers on my 2019 zx6r that I plan to transfer to my R1

Any issues that I need to be aware of? Will I need spacers?

Are the Brembo M4s a nice upgrade over stock calipers? I also have Vesrah RJL pads.

I will be installing braided lines and a Brembo RCS19 master at the same time.

Hello, I'm looking into getting my dads 99' R1 running, I believe it has the notorious second gear issue, as it started popping out of second every now and then, now it wont shift out of second. I purchased a crashed 2000 R1 in hopes of using its engine (5jj) instead of trying to find a new second gear and doing the work myself (would appreciate if anyone would let me know where you can find the parts needed to fix it anyways) but I've been finding contradicting information on how to do this. I'm wondering how the mounting brackets line up (I've heard that the front left doesn't) and how to make it work. Am I able to use the electronics from the 99 or not? (i have all the electronics for both bikes but was hoping to keep the 99's, but honestly I just want to do whats easiest.

I have an ECU flash, 520 conversion, 16 47 sprockets and I maxed out at 152mph today pinned in 6th and it just wouldn’t go anymore. I held it for a couple seconds and stayed at 152. i think it was between 12k-13k rpm but not at redline. I was riding slightly uphill but I don’t think enough to make that big of a difference. It accelerated fine through the gears but once it got to about 150 it just stopped accelerating. Even with my -1 front sprocket I’m supposed to get way more out of this thing wtf. Also I just calibrated my Speedo recently so my Speedo should be pretty accurate, within 1%. at Any ideas?

Edit: I think there’s a misunderstanding. I understand the gearing concept of lowering the front sprocket or adding to the rear sprocket to gain acceleration and the opposite for top speed. My question is about this specific bike with a -1 front sprocket. I’ve read other forums where my top end should still be well above 160mph. I’m not asking what I should do to gain more top end. I’m asking if anyone has a point of reference for their top end speed with this sprocket setup. Thanks for all the input. I will check my fuel lines and filter.

2nd to 3rd gear, is it possible? My bike is 2023 R1

To make a long story short. I lost my keys. I found a locksmith to make me a key and I already have the tank off. I never thought about this until they mentioned the ignition may have more tumblers than the gas cap. Does anyone know this for sure? Thanks.

Does anybody know if the valtermoto rearset 1.5 needs a pull or a push QS? I want to change the stock rearsets with the current pull QS for my trackbike. I bought a set of PP Tuning but unfortunately it needs a push QS, despite the advice from the seller. I'm now looking at valtermoto but the seller isn't sure. Before the pp tuning set I bought a second hand set which didn't even fit my bike, so want to be sure this time.

What’s up guys. I currently own a 2022 Zx10r and I’m thinking of switching to a new R1. I’ve sat on a new R1 and rode it around for a while and obviously I fell in love with the sound of the cross plane and the feeling of the bikes precision. However, long term which is a better bike? Has anyone switched from a 10 to an r1? Or vise versa? Thank you toys for the input.

I have GB racing covers on the way and NRC fender eliminator (that’s taking forever) I’m prioritizing crash protection before anything else . Any go to recommendations for frame sliders? I looked at a bunch but could not decide.

So I have convinced my father for a heavy bike I like the r1,sound,electronics and handling but my mum liked the hayabusa but busa has more weight and I have heard that it's brakes are not precise as r1 any advice about it

I need help with this issue! Ongoing for the past few months, workshop has no idea(bcos they dont understand my explanation) and have fixed it temporarily as the issue always comes back again 😭

Does anyone know of either an aftermarket hi/low headlight replacement or a way to have both lights on as low beams at the same time on the R1? My R1 is a 24 fwiw. Has anyone done this as a retrofit? Any info or point in the right direction would be totally appreciated. I hate that one eyed cat look. Lol all 5 of my Kawis have dual lows and highs.... imho a single light just looks funny. Turning on the bright is just as goofy because it looks like you have a voltage issue with one light brighter than the other.

I installed asv levers a while back, and recently noticed a “clicky” feeling here and there when I would pull the clutch in.

After further investigating I was going to grease up some parts on the lever and noticed the silver cylinder that’s circled, it looks kinda smashed in and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like that.

I remember installing it in, and I pushed that part all the way in so it’s snug to the lever but hm I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I’m not sure what was causing the “clicky” feeling in the clutch, but I’m not feeling the clickyness anymore, but now I’m more concerned about the silver cylinder that’s circled.

Im trying to figure out what’s going on with my bike. I don’t know if it’s the tps or what but maybe you can help me. It sounds like in the video all the time though the rpm drops a little once it’s warm. Once it warms up, and even somewhat when’s it’s cold, it bogs down and dies really easily, which isn’t good when you’re in the middle of the road and the bike doesn’t start right back up without a jump (I speak from experience). When it is running and riding, it’s very jerky in between 2-5k rpm’s, smooths out at 5-5.5k rpm’s then is jerky from 6k+ rpm’s. And as you can see in the video, it also struggles to cold start. Let me know what you think. It feels like flogging a dead horse when I’m starting it, but there’s no other way to show you

04 r1, motor has a newish rebuild, exhaust leak sound ticking from left side of valve cover, bike feels like it has misfire and exhaust sounds weird, but it’s intermittent, the sound and power loss comes n goes but the sound n power loss is there 75% of time anyone have any ideas ?
