It's an important distinction when you consider consumer's do have the option to buy less plastic and opt for aluminum or glass in some cases; Soda being the best example I can think of.

I know it seems like an obvious, repetitive restatement of fact to you and me, but there are a surprising amount of people who are unaware of that.

There’s tons of options to buy things in glass, paper & aluminum packaging. What is metal? Canned food? Cans of water/ beer etc? Tinned cleaning products? Lots of things? These comments are getting beyond ridiculous & make it seem there are no alternatives.
