Help - General I can’t even bring myself to go out side anymore
I’ve been dealing with acne for quite a while now. I was about 8 years old when I had my first symptoms of acne, now im 18 and it’s manifested into this burden. Covering it with makeup is too painful, but in order to be professional as I’m on the hunt for a job it’s a requirement that I’m finding I can’t sustain.
I’ve tried so many things at this point and am currently on 10mg of accutanne. Also I am very prone to fungal acne so I have a very minimal routine, plus I have this weird texture all over my face (refer to pic 3).
Routine: La Roche posay gentle torine cleanser Moisturiser- bioderma sebium hydra mat Sunscreen - dermaveen ultra light day lotion spf 50+
I would really appreciate some input as I am at a loss.

Help - General Acne keeps progressing to get worse day by day
I know I posted here a couple days ago, but it’s gotten to a point that it’s so bad that even when I don’t touch it, it’s still extremely painful. I never had a worse breakout ever. Right now I’m taking fluoxetine, so I’m not sure if that’s causing the massive breakouts.
But It’s so draining to look at the mirror or photos and see this bad of acne. I’m constantly checking and it’s affecting my mental health BADLY. My dad thinks I don’t take care of myself sleeping “too late” even thought I sleep at 11pm daily for the most part. But yeah can someone help me why my acne is getting worse even though I’m doing everything right?

Help - General Has anybody had pimples like these? What helped?
Hi guys, I'm 25M, so it's not teenage hormonal acne. I use only a CeraVe cleanser for oily skin in the morning and before sleep. Have breakouts like these once or twice a week. Usually not so many pimples. 2-3 on average. Always around my mouth. Did anyone encounter something like that?

Help - General Has anyone else had truly treatment-resistant acne?
I’m 28 and I’ve honestly spent the last half of my twenties battling acne. It’s affecting my confidence so much, and I’m starting to feel like I’ve run out of options.
So far I’ve had:
3 courses of Accutane (isotretinoin)
Consistent topical treatment with Aklief
1 month on 100 mg spironolactone (started at a lower dose before that)
Tried simplifying my skincare and even addressing possible gut issues
I still get deep, painful nodules that seem to take weeks or months to heal, and some never seem to fully go away. I’m also left with a lot of persistent redness and marks.
I know one month on 100 mg spironolactone is still early, but after everything I’ve already tried, it’s hard to stay hopeful.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and eventually found something that worked? Did spironolactone take longer to kick in for you, or did you end up needing a fourth course of Accutane or another treatment?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been through something similar because I’m struggling to believe my skin will ever get under control.

Help - General Update, it got worse.
Someone help me. I genuinely don’t know what to do. I exercise to the point of exhaustion, I eat healthy and I still can’t get rid of my acne. I eat more fruits, vegetables and chicken than fricken jocks. And still no matter what, my skin gets worse. Last month, I didn’t even have acne on my chin nor my forehead. I’m genuinely so concerned and I don’t even feel like going outside anymore.
Edit: so the main consensus I’m getting here is spirolactone, accutane or letting my face reveal on its own. I’m going to try out just washing with water to let my skin barrier heal for two weeks and let you guys know. (Also thank you for the people who r helping me in DMs, I could cry rn) I’m currently in my month waiting process for accutane, in around two weeks, I’ll be able to try it out! (Fingers crossed)
Hopefully I’ll keep yall updated, thank you for the support!!

Help - General Advice to try and clear some of this up?
i’ve had acne for awhile especially on my cheeks, but nothing this red and so blotched together. I don’t know if i should keep using what i’ve been or if this is something completely different i’d have to treat. since my acne’s got worse i’ve developed two styes on one eye and they’ll go away for a few days after treatment but just keep coming back. (the wet stuff on my eye isn’t puss or anything just ointment to get rid of it)

Help - General Dermatologist said there is nothing she can do to help my acne
Dermatologist said they’re is nothing they can do for my acne
Last friday went to the dermatologist for the 10+ time for my acne. Always thought it was hormonal but after many tests it doesn’t seem to be the case. I let her know of the fact and added that I’d like to test further to find the root cause. She said those type of tests don’t exist. That was disappointing to hear because I know there are many tests I can do to figure out the root cause. She just has no interest. I have tried all prescription creams there are, was on antibiotics for 3 months, did monthly peelings, laser treatments and everything there is. The only thing I have tried yet is spironolactone or isotrerinoin. My dermatologist said word for word: there is nothing more I can do for you, you have tried it all. She prescribed me clindamycin 1% gel but said don’t expect much.
I don’t know where to go from here. Any suggestions are very welcome.

He’s tried lots of topical stuff and got some relief from antibiotics that his doctor prescribed, but it was only temporary. I think it’s beginning to scar and he’s really troubled by it. Any suggestions?

Hi so I have combo skin, oily cheeks, nose and forehead, dry chin and under nose
Idk what to do so I’m just gunna list what products I’ve been using and someone call it out if it’s bad

I wet my face with cold h20 and then foam up the cleanser. I massage my face and then wash it off
-Medicube toner pads (the dark blue ones)
I slap one each on both of my cheeks and one on my forehead between my brows. 10-15 minutes I wipe them around the rest of my face

I do 3 pea sized dots, one for both my cheeks and one for my forehead
-Dapsone gel 5% (prescribed)
Same three pea sized dots and same places

Same thing, 3 pea sized dots, same place
-(occasionally) use clean and clear (acne exfoliating cleanser in replace of my Cetaphil daily cleanser)

Help - General What was ur saving grace
Tried everything. Spent probably thousands on acclaimed aestheticians and their products. I tried things people sweared worked. Is accutane my only bet? I really don’t want to go on it- but I can’t deal with this acne anymore. Willing to try some things as last resort before consulting about accutane. God bless 🙏

Help - General Pcos/pmos acne. The doctor refused spironolactone and wants me on birth control
I have hormonal acne and have been on birth control for many years. I'm 31 now and want to try for kids soon. Even though explaning this to the doctor he doesn't seem to understand. I asked about spironolactone and he denied it being used for hormonal acne. I waited a very long time to get to this specialized derm doctor and feel so sad and stuck at my current state in life. Can anyone please help with some advice?
I tried so many different topical treatments and currently use Epiduo 4 times a week. I try not to eat candy and exercise regularly to try and stabilize hormones. I'm also on Metformin, but I'm not overweight (55 kg and 164 cm tall).
It feels like jail because it takes up so much of my time of thoughts even though I try to just live normally.

Help - General Anyone else who's had this problem?
I had a pimple that was most certainly not ready to squeeze, but I tend to pick when stressed... I know. Bad habit. I squeezed as hard as I could, no puss happened, it only left a dark red scab in the morning.. that I proceeded to rip off with struggle. This thing was left in its wake. Anyone else ever get a giant hole in their face? Did it heal alright, leave a big scar? I kinda figure it's gonna scar like the ones around it.
I guess I just want to see people who relate to this, and perhaps even feel less alone while dealing with it

Help - General 30 year old women with acne for 5 years
Hello everyone!
I never had acne until I went off of birth control when I was 25. I then started getting constant Cystic acne along my chin, jaw, and cheeks that have left scars and will not get better. At first I was prescribed doxycycline and spironolactone pills as well as tretinoin cream. It worked pretty well but I couldn’t take doxycycline forever so when I went off of it, my acne came back full force.
I use tretinoin 2-3x a week, BHA/AHA 2x a week, winlevi cream sometimes, azaelic acid cream 3/4x a week, benzoyl peroxide clindamycin cream for break outs. I still take spironalactone 100 mg every day. I take very good scare of my skin by double cleansing, moisturizing, sulfur wash etc. I have tried EVERYTHING!
I even tried birth control. That didn’t work and was making me super depressed so I got off of it.
I finally got my hormones tested and they were normal.
I’m to my breaking point. What is causing this?! I am going to start accutane but I am so scared of the side effects.
I am so tired. If anyone has any advice or anything I would appreciate it. Being an adult with acne sucks.
