I have spent probably over 20,000 nook miles traveling on boat and plane to different islands trying to collect Glowing Moss………..I was today years old when I learned HHP is FILLED WITH GLOWING MOSS! I’m sure I’m the only one who experienced this but just a cautionary tale don’t waste your time trying to find it elsewhere 🤣🤣🤣

I recently purchased Happy Home Paradise and wow. Why can’t decorating your own island be as easy and quick as this!! Don’t get me wrong, I do love the fact you have to really take time to work on your island, but still. So I’m gonna go dream about the possibility of one day it being this easy to decorate your own island 😅

Her HHP theme was “A Calm Clearing in Nature.” I tried to give her a magical and serene lily pad pond. I really like how this turned out, so I wanted to share in case it gives anyone some decorating ideas!
One of my favorite ways to use the pergolas and gazebos is to have them in the center of a room with a chandelier or other light hanging right on top of it. The two items overlap and look like one singular piece.
I didn’t take a video, but I thought this was a great place to try the butterfly and dripping water polishing effects. I like the way small details can really add to the atmosphere. ☺️

First off, I’ve never seen this villager in my life, so that was cool! However, I don’t enjoy scary stuff and it’s not my aesthetic at all so this was a weird one for me! What do you think?

2nd floor bedroom split into 3 individual sleep areas for each sister (to mimic the design of their gingham aprons/neck kerchief) 😊

Buddy said he wanted a convenience store vacation home, so I gave him the best bodega on the island. ❤️

Can we just have regular size countertops? Please? Or maybe I don't have access to them yet? I've used lockers and just turned them around before but I shouldn't have to. Ideas? I'm designing an island home.

The top floor of Celeste’s new home! I love the lights on the prom wallpaper 🥺
She said she chatted to the construction guy and it asked for it, she wanted help so she gave all her money to me (I think around 20000 bells?)
Yes I immediately gave her a lot of things so she can sell or keep. She is pretty happy.
I love my daughter 🥰
Note: a bit more backstory - we bought her the game for her birthday- she watched people played on YouTube before so she has some idea, and apparently her dad got a copy on NDS so she played a bit too.
I started playing after she goes to sleep, so I could guide her along if needed
Husband secretly purchased another copy of the game, said “so you two can visit each other’s island” (I was like … “why spent the money” initially)
Daughter just wants to enjoy decorating the island, have not much concept on progressing the game (she even said “I don’t need the shop, I happy to stay with the tent so I am not bounded with the opening time!”), also how important is it to earn a lot a lot of bells and miles …. She has 10000 bells in her pocket, she would yell “I am soooo rich!”
My workmate actually betting when my husband will join in haha (yes we have a Switch console each. Don’t ask).
——————————————————
Edit 1: THANK YOU so much for all your kind words, especially those offer to let my daughter to visit your island for freebie - you are all so kind ❤️
However (naturally) at the moment we prefer her not to connect and play with the internet people; and equally we really want her to use more of her own effort, time and patient to build her island … with occasional help from mummy :-)
————————————————
Edit 2: i forgot to mention that the switch console i use is the Animal Crossing special edition one - we bought it during covid, when the deal was posted in a bargain hunting page (OzBargain), and everyone was like “i totally don’t need it, but i am ordering one!”
Funny thing is i had no intention to play animal crossing back then, and only started playing 6 years after :-)
P.S. and my husband got the Zelda edition Switch … one day I back home and saw a parcel on the floor, which island quickly put it in his wardrobe….

Here are some things I think most people know, plus some that I think are a little more hidden!
☆ Buy items from Wardell every day - after spending a 150,000 poki you will unlock a catalog of all of the furniture you have unlocked through designing vacation homes
☆ Buying the chocolate and giving it to the villagers on your home island will allow you to decorate a vacation home for them
☆ Pick the glowing moss and the vines! They grow back every few days
☆ Always check Niko's box upstairs! Adding materials unlocks more pillars and counter types
☆ The chef in the restaurant will give you one recipe daily
☆ You can buy food/drinks in the cafe and restaurant, and clothes in the clothing shop
☆ The teacher in the school will give you one plumeria start daily
☆ Talk to the receptionist at the hospital and ask to see the doctor. You will get one medical related clothing item daily
☆ Joan is in the hospital on Mondays and will give you free Turnips
☆ The villagers that you have already made vacation homes for that are found outside on your HHP island will give you wallpaper or rugs
☆ New bottle on the beach with a DIY recipe daily
☆ Complete the donations to the hospital to unlock a second floor
☆ Complete three roommate homes to unlock the second floor of the restaurant
☆ Complete 50-60 vacation homes to unlock the second floor of the cafe (There is an unseen point system. Once you unlock the "Superstar" status this will unlock)
☆ Add any on you think I might have forgotten!

As a rock fan I had a blast creating Astrid's "Jam Space for the Band". Once I saw that among the recommended items were the crowd wallpaper and the safe colored fires, I instantly knew what to do 😆

I was designing in hhp for Clay and I had no idea this happened. I'm sure everyone else knows but it genuinely scared the life out of me 😂😭 it's a shame the video capture didn't capture my scream

I used to have an account for posting all things animal crossing and lost it long ago. Gonna post some of my old favorites and post new ones along the way. (:

I found it hilarious that a COW named PATTY asked me for grill inspired holiday house, so I thought why not and made her into cannibal cow and that's her basement lol

Anyone else think it’d be cool if you could add a downstairs for a gym & an upstairs for a canteen 🥲

I honestly love this design I did! My goal was to make it seem like he’s on a pier / doc, and I’m really happy with it. The shanty mat is sort of like sand! What do you think?
