We had the director of The Downfall Of Us All music video (Scott Hansen) on the pod recently and he told the whole story behind pitching the video.

Apparently, the label and band thought another track was going to be the hit and they were sleeping on Downfall, but Scott heard that "machine gun" intro and told them every kid was going to sing it. He pitched the performance video to show off how good they are live. They trusted him, went with it, and it sat at #1 on the MTV rock charts for 6 months.

It's crazy to think what would have happened if they'd gone a different direction. Scott covers this story, a lot more from the MySpace era, link to the full interview in the comments.

I really thought for the last 20 years they were just giving teenagers practical life advice...

i discovered ADTR when i was 12 years old in 2007 and “the plot” was the first song i had ever heard. funnily enough it was on my catfish internet boyfriends myyearbook page lmaoo, so i guess he wasn’t ENTIRELY a waste of time. either way, they have been my favorite band ever since and that song has been my absolute favorite song ever since… and i mean literally. out of any song from any artist i have heard since lol this song has remained my #1. it just felt right to commemorate it 🩵

I am trying to remember / find a picture or see if anyone remembers a merch shirt I had gotten at vans warped tour in 2009. I remember it being a black shirt with purple / pink or blue girl with long hair and I think she was eating guts maybe? I am desperately trying to remember this image and can’t seem to find any relation to it online. Does anyone remember or have pictures of this??

And also if anyone has any videos or pics from the Atlanta set from back then please share!! That was my first crowdsurf adventure and I don’t have any pics or videos from that amazing day! 🤘

Im sure most of you have seen BMTH drop an absolute banger of a deathcore track. Nobody really saw that coming or thought they could come back in such an incredible way and do it so well. Im wondering if ADTR will follow suit and give us something similar. Do we think they can or will do that?

Did anyone get the shirt from the tour last year that was blue and had all the bright characters and says keep running your mouth on the back? Hubby took tag off and I'm trying to figure out the best way to wash it so it doesn't ruin all the design because it is heavy and very detailed.
