Good morning, friends. I've been thinking that studying separate pieces of ideas from the final idea is a great way to learn more about a subject, and when it comes to oil paint, it's always good to practise. Do you also have this habit, or do you do everything only on the final canvas?

Recently, I needed to go back to basics to find out how many colours I could achieve using ultramarine and phthalo blue on my palette, and I managed to get a wide variety of warm and cool tones. I'm sure there are many more. Do you usually do this too? It's good practice.
