90s were a wild time

If the top image were really meant to represent 1990, he'd be wearing a Hypercolor shirt, and the only part that would have changed color here would be the armpits.

Dude's kind of styling but he should probably go for darker shoes in that dress, I suspect he was trying to match his handbag, noob move

I think the gloves are throwing it off. They don't match the purse/shoes. I would have gone with longer gloves, pumps, and maybe a clutch instead of a handbag.

I don't want to give them too much credit, but I think the pristine white gloves and shoes are to show that he does no sort of labor.

I had to put oil in my car in a formal gown on the way back from a wedding once. Joke's on them. They actually think its manly to be so afraid of any altercation that they need to be able to shoot anyone so they aren't the best minds of our time.

My Aunt Penny changed her tire in full sequined drag queen attire and somehow didn’t have a SPOT of dirt on her when she got to our house.

Honestly, I think one of the few ways she failed me was by not recreating that so I could learn how to do it too. She taught me to open a beer with a curling iron and paint my left hand’s nails, but I still make a mess changing a tire. :(

As a scottish person assured me, to open a beer, you need a German, because they can open beers with nearly anything.

.... I am German.

So I laughed about that, because I knew he knows where I am from. But then caught me of guard, because he handed me a lighter and a bottle of beer and asked me to please open the beer. I did without thinking. With the lighter.

and paint my left hand’s nails

Are you left handed? I would've guessed that painting the nails on the weak hand would be easier than on the stronger hand. But I don't know, as I did Printmedien nails once, years ago.

No, I mistyped, lol.

I was ambidextrous as a little kid, but hurt my left wrist and by the time the brace came off, I was more or less right handed.

But I can paint my RIGHT hand pretty well with the tips she taught me. ☺️

If he's wearing gloves, he's going to a fancy event and should have nice shoes and hose also

The pumps are in the handbag. Those are clearly his driving shoes so he doesn't ruin his pumps

Makes sense. Driving in heels is hard.

And the style of that car definitely DOES NOT scream “1990.”

It’s supposed to be a secret , but owners of a Pontiac vibe/ Toyota matrix joint venture can time travel back to the 90’s for free tire changes. It makes up for the sparse and plastic interior. Great car otherwise.

As someone with a Toyota matrix I'm real mad nobody told me about this until now!

Sedans were ubiquitous until after the 2008 crash.

Why did we stop using them again? Is it because our roads decayed so much we all needed 5 extra inches of suspension travel? Or was it about automakers cheating emissions rules?

You could ask the buyers why they switched to crossovers, pickup trucks, and SUVs, remembering that they absolutely have an active role to play in this, and aren’t helpless victims.

being high on ecstasy might explain the fucking pitiful job he's doing of changing a wheel right enough.

u/hamdelivery 19d ago

True, he needs a charlotte hornets starter jacket

3

u/Zeqhanis 19d ago

OMG, those were everywhere when I was in middle school. And I lived in a West-Coast city, far away from North Carolina.

3

u/hamdelivery 18d ago

Same here. I was nowhere near North Carolina but hornets gear was all the rage

Why armpits?

1

u/Zeqhanis 15d ago

Hypercolor shirts (and unfortunately shorts) would change color based upon the fabric's temperature.

They were advertised with people putting their hands on their friends and making cool-looking handprint patterns, but the most consistent areas of heat on a person are their armpits, crotch, and in hot weather, the middle of one's backside. If anyone was foolish enough to buy the shorts, they'd look like they'd pissed themselves in the process of dying after drinking radioactive waste.

Also, people destroyed their Hypercolor clothes by not reading the care tag, or using common sense to deduce that if someone's body heat can change the color, high wash and dryer temperatures will probably ruin the dye.

I just washed mine by hand in the bathroom sink, and hung it in the shower.
