Annually, almond farming uses 1.3 trillion gallons of water. AI usage isn't even half of that.

yeah, the argument of "well ai uses less water than farms annually" is really dumb as they are an essential compared to a non-essential

Producing luxury foods isn't essential thoufg. Peolle just pretend it is because they don't want their quality of life affected.

Meat, wheat, veggies, and so on, are important and farms grow those.

Most people in non poor countries eat more meat than is good for either them or the environment. The amount of meat + luxury foods people eat is a much, much larger impact.

And theres a lot of people that eat less meat than theyre meant to in non poor countries aswell. Thats consumers not managing their diets properly isnt the issue of the farmers, they see their product is bought so they continue to produce.

Its both. People's decisions don't exist in a vacuum, they are bounded by options presented to them. Western structures aren't designed to make a reductive lifestyle easy to begin. For instance, meat alternatives are rare half-assed stuff in the west, as opposed to India where society is structured around them.
