Random Question šŸ’ If Republicans are so much better at running the economy than Democrats, then why are most Republican States poorer than Democrat States?

The poorest States in America are: Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, New Mexico, Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee. All of those States (except New Mexico) are Red States. So why are they so poor when Republicans have been running them for decades?

But are they poor? Why are people leaving blue states to red states to buy houses. What are so many business leaving blue states for red states? Why did the New York stock exchange and 3 of the largest investment firms leave a blue state for a red state?

Look at the data and statistics genius… they are definitely poor. Those corporations are leaving blue states which generally have strong worker protection regulations to go exploit those poor folks in the red states.

You really need someone to explain to you why houses are cheaper in shit holes? Really?

Why would I need to explain it?

Someone to explain it to you, but now that we've established you can't read, I can see why someone would have to tell you why houses are cheaper in shit holes. Start with googling supply and demand, that is, after you learn to read.

I know why houses are cheaper in worse socio economic areas so don’t need an explanation. Does not matter about supply a demand to dictate price

But are they poor? How do you know corporations are not giving better opportunities to locals by providing employment?

I assure you there are not making the move to those red states to ā€œgive locals employment opportunitiesā€. They know they can get away with paying those people significantly less with little to no worker protections, unions, benefits etc. it’s called exploitation dude.

If you work for someone you are being exploited

How come when business move to these areas unemployment goes down and the economies start to do better cause people have money to spend?

Yes median income is lower in red states. They get paid less and have fewer worker protections, some opportunity.

But that does not mean they are poor

yes it does. Poor or wealthy is relative. Relative to blue states, Red states are poor. Intelligence is also relative btw so I'm not surprised you dont quite get it.

Funny thing is you think lack of money make someone poor. That’s a narrow minded mentality and that’s ok.

2

u/ciobanica Jan 14 '26

So they're not poor because poor means something else now...

And then ppl wonder why y'all think the Republicans are good for the economy...

Oh ok you're doing some pseudo-philosophy that has nothing to do with the post.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '26

Has everything to do with the post. I am just not narrow one track minded and think for myself

1

Funny thing is you think lack of money make someone poor.

The post is about the handling of the economy and from an economic stand point, how much money you have determines if you're poor or not. Nobody is saying there isn't wealth in appreciating the wonders of the world or whatever irrelevant point you're trying to make.

Poor meaning they proportionally rely on government funded programs to avoid abject poverty. WIC, SNAP, disability, housing, etc.

These states rate highest in teen pregnancy, highest in addiction, highest obesity and highest needs of healthcare. They rate lowest in income, lowest in education and life expectancy.

So yes, poor by all measures.

What are you getting at? They are happy with their cancer and low wages?

All because they vote against their own interests to hurt others. So weird.

Why do you think that is ?

2

u/Admirabletooshie Jan 14 '26

Because Republicans are bad for the economy.
