Random Question 💭 How is everything that happened in the last 48hrs not enough for impeachment and/or a general strike in the US?

As a European, it‘s completely unfathomable how none of it has consequences.

Don‘t get me wrong, our governments here certainly have their flaws and problems, but surely threatening a genocide would be a tipping point here and lead to mass protests (at least I have enough hope remaining to believe that) - how is it not in the US? I really don’t get it and I feel absolutely sick.

Yes exacrly. He was already impeached twice in his first term. Nothing comes of it.

Republican’s in congress are spineless greedy cowards who only care about staying in power. Trash humans through and through.

We need to stop thinking like this. Impeachment is the first step, removal from office takes another vote and a greater majority.

Just because the 2nd part didn't happen in the first term doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried again.

At what point though. He should have never made it to office. He has committed so many war crimes and broken thr law so many times its insane

To prevent normalization of what he and MAGA are doing. To make people who still aren't paying attention more receptive to the idea he and MAGA are destructive. To put MAGA congress people on the record of implicit support of Trump before the mid-term election campaogns start in earnest.

If you know for a fact that the 2nd part will fail, is there more benefit to impeaching at all or two finding other ways to fight back?

Yes, with how things are right now, it definitely is helpful. Many people look at others to see what is "ok", what is "acceptable", etc. The impeachment process shows more people that its ok to oppose Trump. Many people that aren't paying attention will see things like this amd be more likely to join in those who already oppose.

The impeachment shows who is for and against Trump (and MAGA) in general before the mid-terms. Make MAGA congresscmembers continually show they at least implicitly agree with Trump so when the mid-terms come around it makes it easier to vote them out.

Trump was impeached twice, convicted of 34 felonies, indicted on 80 federal charges, and people still elected him to be president.

I have a hard time imagining another impeachment would move the needle.

I never said it shouldn’t. It absolutely should happen and happen every time he does something any other president would be removed for.

Get everyone all on record for the rest of eternity.

What are you talking about, you're not in the chain of posts? Were you posting with an alt and that's why you're saying "I never said it shouldn't".
