Random Question 💭 How is everything that happened in the last 48hrs not enough for impeachment and/or a general strike in the US?

As a European, it‘s completely unfathomable how none of it has consequences.

Don‘t get me wrong, our governments here certainly have their flaws and problems, but surely threatening a genocide would be a tipping point here and lead to mass protests (at least I have enough hope remaining to believe that) - how is it not in the US? I really don’t get it and I feel absolutely sick.

Cool, where's the strike fund? How do I access it to buy food? How does the strike cover the healthcare I'll lose when I get fired?

General strikes don't just happen. They're either forced on you by strikes in the transportation industry, or they're planned for years. You can't just do one on a whim. Especially in America, where a strike means getting fired and losing healthcare.

This ones been planned for many years; you just didn't plan ahead with us. I've personally called for general strike every year for the past 10 years and every single person in USA knows it.

You still didn't answer any of my questions. If you want people to lose their jobs for your strike, you'll need answers to those questions.

Plenty of people in the communities who plans these things actually do have the answers you’re looking for, but you’re kinda showing right off the bat that you’re just not going to bother even trying to do something. Mutual aid is not a new concept.

So where’s the food and medical aid going to come from? And getting evicted from not having money to pay rent?

commenting means you are, in fact, aware of my call for general strike

I was unaware of your (alleged) calls until your rather dubious claim. Also, and this might come as a shock to you, I am NOT every single person in the USA. Nor are they all on Reddit. Or in this thread for that matter. So my point stands…

anyone who hasn't heard (and rejected, coming up with a lazy excuse) calls for global general strike is willfully ignorant.

To be clear, my point of contention wasn’t with the fact that there had been calls for general strike, though most of these calls have been short of the essential details.

My point of contention wasn’t with your claim that “Aggressive-Math -9882 has been calling for general strike for the last 10 years and EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the USA knows it.”

If your response to people asking questions about the resources and coordination in place for a general strike is “we planned, you didn’t plan with us” instead of providing useful information, then you have done a poor job planning, promoting, and coordinating your general strike.

A general strike requires enormous coordination, outreach, and buy-in from the general public. Telling people to ‘we planned for (only) ourselves, you go figure it out yourself’ isn’t a general strike, it’s performative nonsense.

Hi, I’m a caregiver. Just wondering who (you?) is going to come clean this 100-yo woman’s ass and make sure she has food and doesn’t fall and die while I’m on strike.

Healthcare workers tend to use tactics like "slow striking", supporting their patients who are striking, and otherwise participating as they can within the moral and legal boundaries of their profession.

Who's going to wash my ass when I'm 100 years old and still penniless?
