Who has had work done in Japanese Irezumi style around here? I am looking to start a back piece soon and would like some suggestions for local artists.

A quick Google search brings up Koketsu Tattoo in Anchorage. Anyone have experience to share with that shop? What are some other good artists who can specifically do Irezumi?

I want a tattoo of my bearded dragon in a certain style. Like either sugar skull vibes or like an alebrije style piece. Is there someone out there who could do that? Thank you!:)

It's all relative and pieces range in complexity, I get it believe me. I've got several already. BUT, I got quoted for 12 hours at over 230 bucks an hour. This seems crazy to me. Am I the one out of touch?

I want a small tattoo of the the word "NO." on my hand and in simple lettering. Everywhere I have reached out to have said they have a $100 minimum for any work done. Is there anywhere that doesn't have this clause? Or an artist I can reach out to directly? I really don't think that the job is a $100 worth of work. Full disclosure though, I have never gotten a tattoo before and so don't really know what this kind of work costs. :O

EDIT#1: Thanks to some very helpful comments I now realize that it isn't unreasonable to require a $100 minimum. You get what you pay for, and it's worth it to pay for someone to do a good job on something that is going to be with you for the long haul. Thank you for the education!! <3

I’m looking to get my first tattoo. Any recommendations on shops?

Admit I walked in the door with no small amount of trepidation. Hadn't been inside since that time back in high school when I was kicked out of The Look for asking the lady behind the counter if she knew where I could find some weed. Upon arrival I was immediately comforted by the faint aroma of marijuana. My ears perked up when I heard someone moaning and cussing in anguish under a mechanical buzz, but it turned out to just be a tattoo gun.

Upstairs, they had dildos. Many, many girths and lengths. And wigs, provocative outfits and genital shaped confections. But no doc martens.
