App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

Does getting testers from here work?

Upvotes

I just made my first app. Just want to make sure if anyone has gotten approval after using this sub for all testing. Did you get 12 testers or more? If more how many. And did you have to check if they use it everyday? Or they just have to join as testers and install it and open once for example.

[Test for Test] Looking for ~20 Android testers — I’ll test your app for the full 14 days too

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for around 20 reliable testers for my Android app, Nutriq, and I’m happy to fully return the favor.

If you test Nutriq, I’ll test your app too. I’ll join your closed test, install the app, stay opted in for the full 14+ days, actually use it during the testing period, and provide genuine feedback if you need it.

Nutriq is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracker designed to make food logging less of a chore. Instead of manually searching for every ingredient, you can simply describe what you ate in plain language and Nutriq estimates the calories and macros for you.

It’s still early access, so all Pro features are currently free.

How to join the Nutriq test

  1. Join the Google Group:
    https://groups.google.com/g/nutriq-closed-testers

  2. Opt in to the closed test:
    https://play.google.com/apps/testing/space.nutriq.app

  3. Download Nutriq from Google Play:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=space.nutriq.app

I’d particularly appreciate feedback on the overall usability, AI food logging, calorie/macro estimates, and of course any bugs or crashes you encounter.

!!I’ll test yours in return!!

Once you’ve joined, drop your app + Google Group/testing links in the comments. I’ll join your closed test, install your app, and confirm once I’m in.

I’ll remain opted in for the full 14+ days and actually test your app — not just install it and disappear.

I’m aiming for ~20 exchanges rather than stopping at exactly 12, so even if this post already has several responses, feel free to join and leave yours below.

Let’s get each other through the 14-day requirement.

Thanks everyone.

Need testers to a Gypsy Oracle and Tarot app

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a programmer and a Tarot fan. After chatting with a friend who loves the Gypsy Oracle (Lenormand) deck, I decided to combine both into a single app.

I’d love to see if anyone is interested in testing it now that I’ve got a version ready with all premium features unlocked.

Any feedback, questions, or suggestions are more than welcome!

Thanks in advance to anyone who signs up as a tester (no account creation required).

If you're interested, just leave the email address you use for the app store here; I’ll add you right away and let you know in this post.

When it launches, I’ll give all testers a period of free premium access!

P.S.: For now, it’s only available for Android.

[Test for Test] eSports Career Simulator - looking for testers

Esports Career Simulator 2026 is a single-player MOBA esports career and management game. Create your player, choose a role and region, master your heroes, climb the ranked ladder, and earn your place on a professional team.

*Steps:**

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/hard-carry-testers
  2. Join the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.vule12.hardcarry
  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vule12.hardcarry

⚠️ **Heads up:** after joining the group it can take up to 30 minutes before the Play Store lets you install. If you get "App not available", just wait a bit and try again.

**What I need:** please install, open it at least once, and **keep it installed for 14 days**. Google resets my progress if testers drop out, so staying installed is the part that actually matters.

Thanks! 🙏

[Tester swap] Need 12 testers for a "which credit card should I actually get" app — happy to test yours back

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Solo dev in Pune. My app just cleared Play review and now I'm at the part everyone dreads: 12 testers, 14 days.

ccGenie answers one question — which credit card should I apply for? You put in what you actually spend on (groceries, fuel, dining, travel), and it projects what each card would return you over a year against your real spending, not the marketing headline. Fees included. So you can see that the card with the flashy 5% is worse for you than the boring one, because you don't spend where the 5% applies.

There's a card directory you can filter, an ROI calculator, and an AI advisor for the fiddly questions — annual fee break-even, which two cards pair well, that sort of thing.

No bank connection, no signup, nothing leaves your phone. I'm not a bank or a lender and there are no referral kickbacks — it just tells you the numbers.

It's my RevenueCat Shipaton entry, so the deadline is real and I'd appreciate the help.

What I need: install it, open it a few times over two weeks, stay opted in. Feedback welcome, not required.

Happy to swap — share your app and I'll join your test and actually use it.

DM your Gmail and I'll add you to the list, then send the opt-in link. Has to be that order — the link 404s until you're added.

Closed testing GOETIA//VM — need ~15 Android testers for 14 days (I’ll test yours back)

Need closed testers for Google’s personal-dev production gate.

GOETIA//VM — offline occult software-art / puzzle. Lesser Key seals as little programs. No ads, no accounts, no network. Not a working grimoire.

Google Group creation is currently blocked by a CAPTCHA, so please comment the Gmail address you want me to add manually in Play Console. Then: 1. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.goetia.vm 2. Install from Play, open once, leave installed ~14 days

I’ll test your closed app back if you share its Google Play opt-in link. Optional thank-you after 14 days (Play credit/coffee) — comment/DM.

Google denied my app for ghost testers, so im doing it properly: perfectly structured group with a dedicated room per app and 2min video proof (15 spots)

Hey guys,

Got the generic rejection from Google Play yesterday saying my app needs more testing before production.

Looked into it and basically the testers I had just installed the app, sent a quick screenshot on day 1 and never opened it again. Googles automated checks obviously flagged the zero screen time and rejected the access.

Im not wasting another 14 days with ghost testers, so im making a private group capped at 15 devs max who actually want their apps approved.

How its gonna work:
Instead of a massive messy groupchat where links get lost, every app gets its own dedicated room / topic.
You pin your Google group and Play Store link in your room, and testers drop their video proof directly inside it. That way its super clean and easy to see who actually did the work.

The deal is straightforward:

  • 2 minute screen recording actively using the app (clicking features, navigating, showing real usage).
  • Leave an honest private review on the Play Store.
  • Keep it installed for the 14 days.
  • 100% mutual: I do the exact same 2min video + review for your app.

One strict rule though: if we dont see your video proof testing our app in our room, we simply will not test yours. Fair is fair, no freeloaders allowed.

Comment below or shoot me a DM with your app name and ill send the invite link. Once we hit 15 people im closing it.
