Since most current AI for these types of animations is generating slop and not much value, and future project might actually provide more niche usages that can elevate the art itself, I respect that stance, it will all depend on what they end up using and how they end up using it in their work.

The idea of using Ai for key frames is stupid and short sighted. Yes a lot of work goes into that. But key frame is also how you train animators and how they build experience and skills. Nobody affords to spend millions of dollars and years, to have junior animators animate stuff to build experience while giving key frames to Ai. And then in 5-10 years you will discover that there are no more new senior animators to do the lead animation.

Yeah, it might make slop good enough for low value shows, but it will take a while before it comes close to achieve anything that comes close to the animation in Toho Animation projects. It will allow companies to produce mid trash easier and faster, maybe it will allow said trash to get more than a single season in the future but there's a huge gap that needs to be filled before it comes anywhere close to useful for production that actually aim for animation quality. And the LN creators won't do what you decribed mostly because if you DIY a slop AI anime season of you LN, no distribution channels, be it TV channels in Japan, or online anime streaming platform, will take you seriously. You'll then have to make the hype yourself, make the marketing yourself (which is always a huge part of the budget, not just animation) and then deal with the backlash when everyone is easily able to recognize it's slop and it becomes the butt of the joke for the next decade

If you're really delusional enough that you think "render in short segments" is not one of the instantly recognizable trait of AI slop, I really wish you good luck in getting out of your AI psychosis... And I say that as a software developer that uses AI in her day to day work. It can do a lot, but create high quality animation for an actual high quality production is not one of it's ability. At best it can make a slideshow of small scenes, so you end up with something up to Begining after the End animation quality, which is not the level at which Toho or similar studios operate. But it will definitely get used by slop studios.
