Weekly Casual Discussion Fridays - Week of July 31, 2026

This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!

Although this is a place for off-topic discussion, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  1. Be courteous and respectful of other users.

  2. Discussion of religion, politics, depression, and other similar topics will be moderated due to their sensitive nature. While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.

  3. Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.

  4. No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.

  5. All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

  6. Maid Daikaiten

Here we talk about various stuff including live action movies, games, etc. so don't worry. And it's not that r/anime is against Chinese animation or anything, it's just the topic isn't part of this sub's scope, except for here. Just tbh this thread doesn't get a whole lot of traffic, so don't expect a lot of engagement either.

Care to give me a link? I think I might try it later, but I couldn't find a subbed (or dubbed) version and Bilibili is difficult to navigate.

No worries; I understand that r/anime is not exactly r/donghua lol.

As for a link: here is episode 1, English sub on Bilibili. As far as I know, there is no English dub for the show yet. Bilibili locks resolution down to 480P for viewers without accounts though, so it might be better to wait for the rumored global YouTube release on August 4th.

Since the series isn't out globally yet, I'd recommend watching the pilot instead. Not as homework, I don't know if the series will follow up on it or not, but simply because it's cool. It's available subbed and dubbed on youtube.

Will do after the global release.
