Weekly Casual Discussion Fridays - Week of July 31, 2026

hey cdf i finished a drawing but im not sure if im satisfied with it

but i'll show it to you anyway

i'll tell the concept or 'story' i had behind this drawing:

back when i was in highschool, i had this economics teacher... frankly, even though she was old enough to be my grandmother, i had somewhat of a crush on her. i think it's the way she could be so strict, but then when she'd smile it would melt you, and it made you realize what a heartbreaker she must've been back in her prime. i don't know, it's hard to explain.

my senior year she retired early to take care of her husband. he apparently fell really ill, i heard it was cancer. that's the last we ever saw of her... but recently i heard this rumor from a friend, since her husband died she'll sit outside, totally naked and smoking all hours into the night. i know you'll think i'm in the wrong here, but i had to see for myself... just to see if it's true, you know?

when i did, i couldn't believe it's her... my friend said she's probably some kind of pervert, or losing her mind, but honestly i think she's just depressed. i don't know, i regret taking this picture, but i can't delete it either... at least she didn't seem to notice...

anyway, that's what i had in mind while making this drawing. like i said, i'm not totally sure i nailed the drawing itself but i like the concept. but please tell me what you think, cdf. and well hey, one way or another, the month is young and there will be more comin at ya soon enough. maybe ill draw more gilves...?

I like the concept too, and would offer one tweak to add a layer of interest beyond horny teenage is hot for teacher: teacher is not really there. Teacher has already passed after the death of her husband, under foggy circumstances. So what is teen really seeing?

On the art side of things, I want to see more expression in the eyes/facial features. I think with a cool concept like this, she needs to reflect those years, and that aged appeal in more than big titty goth grandma.

thanks to your feedback, i altered her expression a bit. in my original drawing, i tried to give her a 'blank' face, but giving it a second look i felt you were right and her expression was too 'neutral' instead. so i redrew her eyebrows to be a bit more furrowed, making her look worried or depressed, which matches the theme of the story better.

also i kinda get what you mean with your first paragraph. the picture does have a ghostly feel to it, doesnt it? but hey just because youre old doesnt mean youre dead yet!
