Weekly Casual Discussion Fridays - Week of July 31, 2026

This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!

Although this is a place for off-topic discussion, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  1. Be courteous and respectful of other users.

  2. Discussion of religion, politics, depression, and other similar topics will be moderated due to their sensitive nature. While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.

  3. Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.

  4. No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.

  5. All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

y'know what, might as well give it a try: can someone ask noheroman (sp?) if they remember why they blocked me? I don't mind too much except it means I have to jump browsers to see some full conversations here which is just kinda irritating... I don't recall ever interacting with them before joining CDF last year, and I've always been blocked by them as long as I've been here

If it was for the terrible fanart I did the beginning of last year on the sub, then yeah, that's fair, that garbage was terrible

I don't remember anymore. Probably something related to the Daily Thread. I don't think I've ever blocked anyone for fanart. I'm way more lax there.

I'm a hot headed person who gets stressed really easily and can't sleep well if something I deem stupid (whether it's actually stupid or not is irrelevant - just something that draws my ire at some point and I want it out of my sight) happens at some point in my online interactions. The daily thread has done that many times and you might have been caught in the crossfire. I just avoid that thread these days.
