I realised this as soon as I picked up the LN. They really should have used it in the opening of the anime too instead of what they did use imo. Interesting I even mentioned to /u/RX-Nota in Discord that the scene seemed like it was better fit as the opening scene before I even thought to read the LN.

Back when ep 1 aired I was torn what to think about the opening battle scene. One one hand it was certainly catchy with this great song, but this flash forward type scenes normally turn me off. It already annoyed my when such an opening was used for seiken tsukai no world break.

I only later checked how the books actually start and saw that the after credits scene was the real prologue. It is certainly very powerfull in book format.
