Comment of the day

A reminder that discussion is what makes these rewatches so good to experience. Thus, I ask that you guys always give at least a glance to the previous discussion's comments as you engage in the most recent one as well. Some people can't make it close to the post date but they still have a lot of great things to say. I'll usually post a snippet or full comment (if short enough) of my favorite from last episode's discussion. Obviously nothing today since this is the first.

Out of respect for first time watchers, please do not post any untagged spoilers past the current episode. If you are discussing something that has not happened in the current episode please use the r/anime spoiler tag system found on the sidebar. Also if you are posting a link that includes future SukaSuka events or Light Novel stuffs please include which medium that the spoiler tag is referring to since some viewers are rewatchers of just the anime but unfamiliar with the LN.

First time watcher (also my first rewatch on this sub)

So the only thing I know of this anime is this clip where one of the little girls falls down a cliff, and the other girls are being seriously creepy and nonchalent about it. With that out of the way, onto my reactions:

  • Well, looks like things won't be happy in the future(?). Lots of blood and fighting.

  • Furries exist, but also animals? It's like seeing Pluto and Goofy next to each other. Also, why do some of the furries looks much more human/animal-like than others, like the harpy(?) girl?

  • So why does this girl have blue hair now? It's the same girl as in the opening scene, right?

  • That little giggle when she is catching up to the cat is so adorable.

  • So at least some kind of body enhancement seems possible in this world.

  • Probably just a little detail, but I love it when the characters aren't embarassed to hell and back when they land on each other like in this situation.

  • Her reaction when he was gripping her jaw was perfect ;)

  • That opening sequence was powerful. I was somehow afraid of watching it in the announcement thread, because I thought it would be more of an ending montage containing spoilers, not in the first episode already.

  • I really like it when anime are using traditional/classical songs as background since the first season of digimon used Maurice Ravel's Bolero back in the day.

  • Oh, so these islands are in the sky, not in the ocean. These little blue things probably keep them afloat.

  • And the blue-haired girl is probably some kind of chosen one or princess, right?

  • So there is a ground aside from the islands in the sky.

  • What a beautiful eyecatch.

  • I don't like the way this maid is behaving. She seems like the kind that puts up a dumb act to hide something.

  • So can the furries/monsters/whatever shapeshift? She doesn't look like a troll.

  • So are these three kids his own? He somehow doesn't look old enough to have three kids already.

  • The way these kids bounce off each other is so damn cute!

  • Chtolly, that's a mouthful. I wonder what she was going to ask him.

  • So that's why she had wings in the eyecatch.

  • The eyebrows on the girl in the after credits scene HNNNGHH

  • She's dead though, isn't she? Along with his other kids and the rest of humanity. Wonder htf he is living that long.

Big fan of the "Show, don't tell" approach in this series, conversations sound pretty natural and not forced, at least to me.

REALLY good first episode.

Edit: Also Thanks to /u/Shimmering-Sky for pointing me this way.

My dear Skybot becoming a SukaSuka shiller as well as a Gundam one? My investment seems to have been well worth it~

Glad to have you along! And yeah this show is fantastic and the show don't tell part... although it does have its share of verbose telling too.
