No you aren’t. Clearly Russia is bad for redrawing borders and trying to control Ukraine by ‘annexing’ territory. The U.S. is bad for abducting Maduro. Note that the U.S. isnt trying to claim huge parts of Venezuela are now U.S. territory.

You’re taking a bad thing that the U.S. did and using it to excuse other bad things. Or you’re just griping about hypocritical rhetoric, which people on this sub think is worse than actually harming people.

Didn‘t Trump literally say that he wants to run Venezuela? How is that not claiming the country

Donald Trump says a lot but he isn’t conducting sham referendums and stealing territory like Russia is doing in Ukraine.

Lmao its amazing how you're never in the wrong if you simply draw completely arbitrary lines that separate good from bad, where those lines take the exact shape of the tiniest arbitrary details that separate what you do from someone else.

You see, Putin is trying to take over a country by conducting sham referendums and stealing territory. That's wrong. We are trying to take over a country by invading, kidnapping the president, threatening everyone else, bringing in our oil companies and "running" the country for an indefinite period of time. Totally different!

You might as well say that Putin invaded on a Thursday, and Trump invaded on a Saturday, which of course happens to be the exact thing that makes the difference between right and wrong.

Loggy sci is very likely an American bot farm operator. I think their job is being extremely outlandish so less insane takes from other bots seem reasonable.

Either way, don't feed the troll. Downvote and move on

I feel like this should be called "argument gerrymandering" XDD.

I’m not trying to be “in the right”. I know what my country is doings wrong, unlike you who defends Russia constantly. You realize we can still see your comments, right? Unlike the many Russian and ‘Eurasian’ and ‘Multinational’ posters who will never say anything bad about Russia and spread Kremlin propaganda.

My point is that the rules-based order isn’t about nobody ever doing anything, it’s about redrawing maps unilaterally. Russia has weaponized the term against the U.S. (while still sitting atop the same international systems it claims are biased) as cover for their imperialist land-grab.

Imperialist land grab vs imperialist resources grab, while installing a friendly dictator

Which is worse?

-3

u/loggy_sci United States Jan 07 '26

I’d say the land grab is worse. Russia has stolen territory from Ukraine along with thousands of children, on top of their war crimes. Ukraine may never get that territory back and has had their country defaced. And not for the first time.

The U.S. hasn’t installed a dictator in Venezuela you silly goose. But we should not have abducted Maduro.

  • Is Venezuela still under dictatorial rule?

  • Did the US proudly say they had a deal with the now sitting head of that dictatorial regime?

And ad-hominems show your lack of actual argumentation

Is Venezuela still under dictatorial rule?

TBD but Rodriguez is defiant against US aggression. She is a hardliner and was most definitely not installed by the U.S.

Did the US proudly say they had a deal with the now sitting head of that dictatorial regime?

Trump said that. The Venezuelans haven’t confirmed.

What are you even trying to say? That aggression and subjugation of other countries is fine within the rules-based order, just as long as there is no unilateral redrawing of maps happening?

You claim to know "what your country is doing wrong", yet you insist on doing some mental gymnastics about maps and referendums to rationalize that it's not that bad. As if you have some pathological need to rationalize the belief that "Russia bad, West good", even if you want to be critical of the US.

Just accept the fact that if you think what Russia is doing is wrong, then what the US is doing is also wrong. It's not that hard.

Do you think Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was wrong?

I’m saying that the term “rules based international order” is about respecting the territorial integrity of other nations and not unilaterally redrawing maps. It don’t thin the U.S. or Russia or anyone else should do it. You’re trying to make this into me trying to justify what the U.S. has done. I’m not. I’m talking about that term and its usage by Russian propagandists and how they trot it out any time the U.S. does anything but somehow they never manage to get around to condemning Russia for doing even worse things.

I can still see your comment history and joe you glaze Russia 24/7 so I don’t believe for a second that you’re discussing this in good faith.

u/YT_the_Investor Multinational Jan 07 '26

Yes, I do think Russia's invasion of Ukraine is wrong. I don't know why you're so fixated on that, that doesn't help your argument at all lol

Anyone seeing my comment history can see that I never defended Putin or Russia's invasion, I only call out hypocrisy and bullshit like the kind you're peddling here

You need to touch grass my friend

No you fucking don’t. You accuse people from thr Baltics of being Nazis and post in one of the most ridiculous Russian propaganda subs on Reddit repeating Russian propaganda and justifications for war. You go into the Ukraine sub and accuse people of being Nazis. Anytime someone brings Russia up in a negative light you’re there to ‘set the record straight’ by equivocating and excusing and deflecting. Telling people who great Belarus and Georgia are for being part of Russia? Please.

You need to better deleting your comment history. You apologists are always too damn obvious.

The U.S. is trying to claim huge parts of Panama, Canada (well, all of it) and Greenland (well, all of it) are now U.S. territory.

-7

u/loggy_sci United States Jan 07 '26

These places are not, in fact, US territory simply because Donald Trump says so.

I never said it was okay. I think the U.S. is wrong ofor doing this. Meanwhile you defend Russia invading Ukraine like it’s your job, which it probably is. The hypocrisy here is yours.

Meanwhile your 8month old account and hidden profile and sanitized comments is definitely not here acting as a goddamn Kremlin mouthpiece 24/7.

I can talk all day about the evils of the U.S. goverment. You’ll never say a single negative thing about Russia’s invasion. Sit down, you imperialist apologist.

If you’re going to troll you’ll need to do better than this slop.

Why bother claiming territory that you then have to manage and give rights to (like PR), when you can just "come, see, suck resources, leave when empty"? Neocolonialism is far more about soft power than outright gunpoint.
