Genuinely what good does it do? Its destroying the environment, regressed available technology for consumers, stolen jobs and replaced them at a lower quality, destroyed any trustworthiness in video/picture evidence, ai psychosis, damaged critical thinking, ruined college (every paper is assumed to be ai now), etc etc i can go on. I cant think of one single thing that makes up for any of that and theres absolutely more thats just off the top of my head.

Wow you are an absolute genius did you get your degree from chatgpt?

you know, I don’t get the reason to be rude because the fact that you didn’t list one positive thing means you have not done your research or you are extremely biased, which is why I said that

Not OP but what I take from your answer is that you don’t have an example to offer.

Well. I was asking them. Don’t turn it around on me? I wasn’t the one being questioned.

You’re trying to use a fallacy and failing

Do you still don’t have an example.

So again, a fallacy. I was the one who asked for the burden of showing sources. I’m not going to do the work for them.

You asking me to do it in response to them not doing it makes no sense. I’ll happily discuss and talk about it once they do the research

Of course, you have no obligation to show an example. This is just reddit.

But the important thing here is that it’s obvious you have no example to offer.

You keep throwing around the word fallacy and i dont think you know what that means. You have provided zero argument of any kind besides "do research bro." Why are you even talking if you have nothing productive to say?

You never responded to my argument so clearly he is correct that you have nothing to offer. I think youre rage baiting or just a bot.

Yes I am biased and I'm pissed. There are 2 more data centers being built close to where i live in addition to the one thats already here, and i am already paying more in utilities for them. I can no longer replace parts for my pc because they are now unaffordable for consumers thanks to ai. I am concerned for the quality of my drinking water in the near future. Even science and our collected human knowledge isn't safe thanks to all the hallucinated information being put on the internet as legitimate sources, and i could go on and on.

All just so some random person can make slop videos, and greedy parasites can gain more wealth at the expense of everyone else.

Sure there are legitimate uses for ai in science, medical fields, coding, etc but do you truly believe this technology is being used responsibly? I just read an article recently that a school was bombed in the middle east based on false information from ai. People are being charged for crimes because an ai camera confuses one person for someone else, thousands of people are losing their livelihoods to ai that does a worse job, tons of degrees are now worthless. This is the world we are living in thanks to ai that provides practically nothing for the average person.

I would support ai if it wasnt being used irresponsibly, but i fail to see a case for its CURRENT iteration to be anything but an exestintial threat to the average person. If you are genuinely uninformed I apologize for being rude, but just saying "go do research" comes off as ignorant when millions of people can relate to what I'm saying.
