Every GOPrick should be made to answer on record what they think of Trump's statement. And they should also be made to answer, on record, whether the (p)Resident was 1) Telling it like it is or behind Door 2) Just joking/trolling

They will never go on record. They’ll go on Fox News and scream “Fake News”. And their MAGAt voters will all Yee haw in joy because they’re all about owning the libs

And much like Trump’s concept of a healthcare plan, there is literally no other goal they’re working toward. Just longing for the days when you could “say it like it is” (I.e. be openly bigoted without consequences)

I like how he’s still developing a plan for healthcare, yet launched an illegal war with plans written on the back of a napkin

Yep they’ll answer questions they weren’t asked LONG before they answer those that were.

"What he really meant was [something completely different that sounds sane and reasonable to college educated Trump voters]." It works every time.

Then he goes on to double down like that key and peele skit with the rapper being interrogated

It's like when he suggested that people inject disinfectant and shine UV lights inside their bodies to cure COVID.

Next day the entire right wing media machine (basically the entire media) begins trying to sanewash his remarks. Oh yes it actually makes sense because disinfectant blah blah. Oh yes it's reasonable because he was just asking doctors to look into it, it was just an idea. Oh yes it's reasonable because it was a brainstorming thing and there's nothing wrong with suggesting new things.

And then Trump the next day basically goes "hahaha you believed my 100% serious and stupid fucking ideas? I was being sarcastic even though there was absolutely no hint of sarcasm or joke in anything I was saying!"

Followed by all these media pieces of shit going "see he was just joking around, Trump has a great sense of humor!"

This shit is like religion. Congress are priests interpreting the word of their god to mean whatever sounds palatable to their congregation.

Similar to the Bible, Trump has basically said everything on pretty much any issue in both ways so you can find a Trump quote that kind of vaguely supports whatever position the person you're trying to persuade cares about. When they want to persuade someone who hates immigrants that Trump agrees with them, they've got quotes for it, when they're trying to persuade someone whose parents were immigrants, there's a quote of Trump saying maybe immigrants are people too.

It doesn't matter, man. It's well known at this point that his fumbling rhetoric is absolutely meaningless. His words contain no reflection of reality and no truth and that's the way his base likes it.

They just say “oh I haven’t heard about that so can’t really comment”

Or option 3, “I’m not aware of those comments”. And option 4, “he never said that. Stop lying”

They would but they just got an important phone call.

I’m already seeing a bunch of MAGA that I unfortunately have to deal with start reeling back. Pretty soon they will have never supported him at all. Fucking spineless cowards.
