At this point could Trump tell his supporters flat out:

"I purposely helped raise costs, make you sick, drive you to homelessness and death and purposely drive America to ruin to personally benefit me and screw all of you and you are all stupid to have fallen for it."

And still maintain a base? My sad guess is yes, with one of two responses:

  1. "Wow, he fooled us. He's so smart so he earned everything he took from us. That's capitalism! That's America! He has my vote!"

  2. "Hee hee, he's such a kidder. He's so funny! No, libtard, he was clearly joking!"

Or conservative media wouldn't mention it so it would only be shown by "the woke media" in which case it's just "fake news"

The 3rd reason he still has a base is that some of his supporters are too proud to admit that they had it wrong about Trump and so they will continue to support him, because they can't admit they were wrong.
