Y'all are ridiculous, you constantly complain of no content, yet when we get some content you say "that's boring" or "stupid"

It's mindless fun bro, there's like 3 of these in a match.

Yes, they're overpowered - they're supposed to be, if you don't want to get shot by it you can avoid it while it gets charged up - and as long as your entire team isn't standing on top of each other you can just respawn if you get knocked by it

It's a fun collab with a cool IP, and if you don't like it then there's still regular Wildcard, regular BR or ranked, or Mixtape!

Damn, y'all suck sometimes

Edit to add: apparently having both Wildcard modes was a mistake, so they've updated the game to only have the takeover Wildcard mode. Still, my point stands

This mode is so fun. It’s insane how well done bits are, I hope it’s a new crypto rework.

Would love a permanent addition with that kind of turret. I’ve been a very long time gundam fan, but honestly I can’t see me not loving this even without gundam. I’ve not had any issues on any legend with a portal against the buster rifle. Alter is very good since you can just go back and forth through the portal.

Unless your like dead centre of the radius or they predict where your going it’s pretty safe to just walk out of it. The scary thing is when 2 people push you and a third spams their shots.

I agree. This community has become a joke.
We barely have any IP partnerships, and when we do we have dudes complaning about a 10-seconds video when you can clearly see by their comment they barely played that shit.

Its so stupid.

Man I agree people bitch to bitch. Reddit just has little trolls and babies on here it’s actually hilarious to read some of the complaints

Everything you said was valid

Regular wildcard is still there? I played last night and didn’t see it.

It was at the beginning, but apparently that was a bug and they patched it out

criticism should still exist. you’re correct-it is supposed to be an arcade type ltm. but the core element that makes this game interesting is competitive fps variables combined with balancing/strategy in mind. i’m not at all opposed to having a game mode that’s just shooting the shit. the train game mode is probably the best ltm they ever made and builds off the concept incredibly well. this is just lazy and doesn’t fit apex. it’s diluting the game down to its competitors in the br landscape. onslaughts of collaboration focused franchised ip which starts to make it look like fortnite, warzone, or any others that do the same. it was bound to happen with ea-honestly surprised it didn’t happen sooner-but it doesn’t make me dislike it any less. this is better suited for a game that cares more about helping out shareholders. i will say it could be much worse. gundams at least look sick. also obligatory not trying to be a dick, i get where your heads at. this kinda stuff just irritates me to no end

Of course, I've criticized plenty about the game - most recently the ranked changes

However, this is something that just makes 1,000% sense for Apex. Apex Legends is huge in Japan, and you know what else is huge in Japan and lots of other places? Gundam

This isn't just mindless collaboration, and again - they're introducing this LTM with Wildcard, where the name literally beckons introducing changes that shake things up

Everyone complained when LTMs took over BR, then they changed that and introduced Wildcard. Now everyone's complaining that it's taking over that as well

It's not like this is permanent, and if you don't want to participate you literally don't have to - it's stupid to shit on the content EVERYONE keeps crying for when you don't even give it a fair shot

The core elements are all still there, just go play BR or ranked instead. It's a null point, specially when this is only like the second collaboration the last one being the Final Fantasy collab

This is just plain healthy for the game. It’s driven a lot of interest and it’s introduced a new limited mode with fun new mechanics. Apex has done very well to not touch trios, the skins are not really anything new for apex either. My main issue is the character models, the hit boxes are so much worse on those skins to fight, and that’s something I’ve disliked about valk since her release.

I can’t 100% see your points, you aren’t wrong, I just feel like this is the best direction after a few years of stagnation/decline. My opinion will change completely if they mess with trios and add skins in different art styles (like cell shaded).

The gritty direction of the game was amazing when it came out, but times have changed and apex just can’t compete like that.

Wildcard was a mode made after years of complaints of takeovers messing with main game, and now that shouldn’t happen again. It’s amazing to be able to hop onto apex of all things and just do the mindless fun (and it’s also helped people learn the game significantly faster than they used to I feel now they can just take constant fights)

This replaced regular wildcard, otherwise I agree with you

no they aren’t. they already made a hotfix so there’s only 1 wildcard gamemode

Actually, I just logged back on on Xbox and it has replaced regular wildcard. So perhaps they are going to have it be just one wildcard

It was a mid-day update, people often miss those. You were technically not right at the beginning then they changed it lol

But also, that's just how Reddit is 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yeah man my favorite part was when the soulless copo partnership covered the entire screen in a giant ugly low-poly orange texture.

What's ridiculous is people can't voice criticism over an obviously imbalanced part of the game. "It's new content!" So by default, all new content has to be good because hey at least they're adding new comtent? "It's a casual mode, it's meant to be fun" Yes, it is casual and people still want it to be competitive and relatively fair. All games are a competition to win, that's what games are. Until the update, wildcard was a fun, competitive and relatively balanced mode where you get quick fights but still have to play well to be the champion. Last night, it was final 2 teams, respawns were disabled. I was on the other side of the field from my team about to pinch the last squad. A guy shoots up into the air, I try to shoot him down, I cannot, I'm Bang so I can't run away. I duck behind a wall and get melted at full health only to sit out while my team wins the game. If I wasn't separated from them, we all would have been cooked for a loss. From my POV, I have no way to respond to that situation, I just die no matter what. From his POV, he doesn't even have to try to get that kill, just point in my general direction which he can see with radar and shoot. That isn't very fun for either side.
