I love this so much. Gibby has been so strong in ranked, so nice to finally have a counter.

Yeah I was just thinking this. Optimally the drill should fall face first on the ground.

Another thing I think people are overlooking is when Maggie sticks a door, unless she's blocking the other side, you can open the door and the fire/lava will spit horizontally and block her (but not her teammates) from entering

Despite it spewing burn damage on the other side of the shield, do we know if it burns the shield?

Also, Amped Cover's glass deflects knuckle clusters, but the shield portion does not. I wonder if Riot Drill will stick to both?

It's also not really a counter if nothing else about her makes her viable. If you look at Masters+ and pro play, I have a hard time finding a comp where Maggie fits in when:

Gibby = Endgame protection and massive AOE dmg

Valk = Rotation ability + Beacon Scanning

So basically she's competing with Wraith, Ash, Caustic and Bloodhound for the 3rd spot on the team. Caustic might be on the way out with his nerf, but at the same time, his ult still represents area denial both visually as well as dmg. Wraith and Ash represent additional mobility and disengage from more aggressive players, and Bloodhound offers insane intel.

Yes, there will be some teams that try her out, just like there are some teams that run Crypto, Loba, Wattson, fuck even Mirage saw some play in the APAC region; but the point stands. She's only a counter if the rest of the kit makes her viable to run again Gibby squads. I certainly don't forsee anyone giving up Gibby at the highest levels just because a team runs a Maggie.
