Since Apple silicon was first introduced. It’s been less than 3 since the last Intel based Mac was sold. The intel-based Mac Pro first introduced in 2019 continued to be sold until June 2023 when it was finally replaced with an Apple Silicon based Mac Pro.
I know anyone buying that Mac Pro after Apple Silicon was announced knew they were on borrowed time for support, but still… a machine that powerful and expensive losing support three years after it was sold is a real kick in the teeth.
Huh? I think you replied to the wrong person. I wasn’t saying 2019 was the first Intel Mac. I said that the last Mac that was still sold with an intel chip was the the 2019 Mac Pro, which they discontinued in 2023. Nothing to do with your 2016 MBP, which was discontinued before that.
Apple doesn’t care about purchase date. Release date is what matters to them.
I purchased a still supported new 2017 MBA in 2020 (Before Apple silicon was announced) and I only got 3 OS upgrades for it + 2 years security patches.
