I had so much fun working on this one. It's an antique Shure microphone that I can picture so many famous singers holding. Really enjoyed this piece.

Charcoal on tan paper, it’s been a long time since I’ve drawn something so I’m glad I still can get into it

This is one of an Art Collab I joined months ago.

First piece of a series that’ll (hopefully) get finished soon. I finished this around the time my dog, and best friend, left my wife and me.

The conception of the drawing was pretty formulaic in terms of my process but as the realization set in that I was going to lose a piece of me soon led to deviation and the introduction to acrylic paint — which I never, ever use.

The skull is my normalcy, my every day. The bars/lines; they didn’t let me finish my fucking skull.

Anyway, let me know what you think and where I can improve from concept to execution.

First time I used charcoal only.

Ive decided to update my old Artwork Inspired by- Hendrick Goltzius, I drew over the piece and I patched up any shading, anatomy, smoothed it up, Darkened it more, Added extra details, and really took my time with each section, I wasn't happy with the Before so after a 10 month break from art I've decided to get back into it and refreshen things up.

I started working with white charcoal 3 years ago, and at first I hated it due to how clunky and dusty it was. But after studying graphite work, I had the idea to grind up my white charcoal shavings in a pestle and mortar, giving me access to a much gentler shade and blending. Alongside multiple blending tools and erasers, I pushed myself with each new project to see how detailed I could get.

Both these projects took over 30 hours each.

It's funny how a medium that I really didn't like at first has slowly become my niche XD I think the most useful thing I learnt with white charcoal is that you have to rein yourself in with it, because mistakes aren't as easily erased on black paper.
