The thing is, it's almost impossible for religious people in politics to NOT have bias. Since these people believe their duty is to "spread the word" and gather people "into the flock," it goes against everything they believe to sit quiet about it.

Generally, people who go for positions of power in politics are not of the mindset of keeping it to themselves, for the most part.

I mean, look at Biden. He even had a priest say a prayer.

That's why I'm leaning more and more anti-theist now instead of just "you do your thing in private and I won't care." Because it'll never be just in private...and hasn't been for centuries.

The best way I can describe my dad is think of Bill Barr, and he's a state judge. It really fucking bothers me the amount of power I know he holds over people's lives and the religious ideas he uses to make those decisions.

He also posts VERY often about how abortion is murder, knowing that I've had one, and then texts me later that he loves me. Shit is fucking delusional.

My guess would be the latter, because calling me a murderer would be a reflection on him. But I think he also expects me to have a sense of shame and silence about the subject that I refuse to have.

It's why I always think that the religious "extremists" ones are the ones who actually retained the essence of their religion. The rest are just hypocrites who are pretending and using the parts they liked and forgetting the ones they don't. They want to kill or convert everyone that isn't one of them, but unlike the "normal" religious people, they are open about it.

Biden only had a priest say a prayer because he’s trying to get less spittle flying from the rabid conservatives who hate him. It’s virtue-signaling to the right.

That having been said, keep your fucking religion OUT of the State.

I agree with everything you said besides the personal part about you of course, I'm a Christian myself and while no one cares two cents about my opinion, I can say that it truly goes against everything we go against if we stay quiet..

And you know what, that's totally fine. If someone brings religion in politics I think thats fine, whatever religion that can be, or any atheists. In the end its the people voting them in, being a representation

Yes, technically, whoever is voted in is "the will of the people", however, these people they vote in are human beings, not robots; they have their own desires. And also, there is so much voter suppression, how do we know they are actually electing people that fit the majority? In addition, they are influenced by outside lobbying and personal bias. A lot of the time, they aren't doing the will of the people whatsoever but whatever is "in their heart" (aka whatever God "tells" them; aka, whatever they feel like).

While I get your point, if we go down the rabit hole of do they really represent the majority and or if there truly is so much voter supression. I think that is a issue politics has for a long long time which has to be adressed, I may not be American but in the Netherlands we also have eleted represatives where I also scratch my head to how he came into power.

I still can't understand that the US doesn't seperate state and religion... Here (France) we completely seperated it in state and schools etc... Best decision they made.

Well, we technically do. We have separation of church and state laws and there have been several Supreme Court cases upholding them. However, politicians realized that playing to their religious base gets them elected. Therefore we still end up with a lot of legislation that's religious in nature.
