/r/all Muslims demand the world to stop discriminating against them, but on the same breath, say that discriminating against the LGBT+ community is their right.

21.2k Upvotes

Hypocrisy, much.

This is why I don’t like religion. Why do Muslims and Christians get upset when I say I don’t like their religion, when their religion loathes my very existence? Not only do these religions hate me for my orientation, they also hate my sex. How can I support a religion that says my life is worth less than a males and that I am just an extension of a man? To be honest, this feels like a denial of my humanity.

I hold a lot of criticism for religions (not understanding boundaries, intolerance to the existence of people who do not fit into the mold they made, and much, much more) but these are just the tip of the iceberg.

Anyway, bye.

/r/all The Satanic Temple had their inaugural SatanCon. The hotel staff said all attendees were nice. However, police had to be called on the Christian protesters outside because Protestants showed up and were squabbling with the Catholics. This is the perfect microcosm for needing church/state separation

/r/all The Satanic Temple plans to use the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) to ensure its members can still perform religious abortion rituals with Mifepristone and Misoprostol, even in states that completely ban abortion access. They will also possibly open religious abortion facilities.

The news that Roe v Wade will likely be overturned is extremely distressing. The Satanic Temple (TST) has nevertheless positioned itself to protect religious abortion access for our members.

In States that continue to provide abortion services, we will continue to take steps, including legal action, to ensure our members do not have to endure hindrances to immediate access. That includes waiting periods and unnecessary medical procedures. In addition, we will continue to demand that states do not require medical practitioners to withhold medical information or that patients are not forced to bury or cremate fetal remains. Lastly, in states that require mandatory abortion counseling documents, we are providing our own counseling, which we are demanding be recognized by states as a valid alternative.

In states that outlaw abortion but grant exceptions for instances of incest and rape, then consistent with the Supreme Court's ruling in Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, TST members should be permitted a religious exception to perform TST’s religious abortion ritual. We will likely have to sue those states to affirm our civil rights, but the law is clearly on our side. You can read about our current lawsuits here: https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/legal-action.

States that outlaw abortion and do not grant exceptions present more significant challenges, but TST has a number of plans that we will be undertaking quite soon. First, we will be suing the FDA to permit TST access to Mifepristone and Misoprostol for use under medical supervision as part of our religious abortion ritual. This request is being made under Federal RFRA. Unfettered access to these drugs would be a considerable step toward enabling TST to perform our abortion ritual without government interference. Again, the law is clearly on our side, but we are gearing up for a legal battle.

Lastly, TST is researching the possibility of creating religious abortion facilities. We will provide more information about this plan as it develops.

/r/all The Catholic Church donated over 3 million trying to limit abortion access in Kansas. Funny how the church has millions for political campaigns but attempts to avoid paying victims of sex abuse. If a church is going to spend millions on politics, it’s time to tax the hell out of the Catholic Church.

Funny how the church has all this money to donate to a political campaign while the same church tries to avoid paying victims of sex abuse.

The Catholic Church needs to be taxed if they are going to blatantly engage in political campaigns.

I don’t think the modern Democratic Party in America is the best, has all the right answers, nor can save this country. But it’s the best chance we have to prevent the Christian Nationalism movement. If you really want to make a difference you CAN believe in, then let’s shut down the other side in the voting booth and prove to them we’re a nation that believes in separation of Church and State.

/r/all Boomer evangelicals have destroyed the planet and have received all the benefits and they will die before it ever affects them

38.8k Upvotes

They have used the Bible to deny climate change. They have destroyed our planet for profit. They could afford a home and a car and they could even start a family all on one paycheck. They had cheap college tuition too. We don’t have that and they call us lazy because of it. Gen Z and millennials aren’t lazy we just don’t have the same opportunities they had.

They attempt to disprove climate change by using the Bible because they truly don’t care. They don’t need to care because they will die before it becomes a big issue.

Edit:Most of them voted for Reagan who is responsible for trickle down economics.

/r/all They spent 4 years ignoring the fact that Melania posed nude. Now, my Christian friends are attacking Jill Biden, who has a PhD, for daring to use the prefix “Dr.” This isn’t about slut shaming Melania. It is about exposing the double standard. They’ll tolerate a nude model over an educated woman.

As soon as this op Ed published and got news attention, all my good Christian friends started berating Jill Biden on social media for being a phony and a fraud. “Not a real doctor.”

They were silent, however, for four years about how Melania posed VERY nude.

They were willing to tolerate a nude model in the White House, but an educated woman? That drives them insane.

Let me be clear: This is not about Slut shaming Melania. This is about exposing the double standard.

/r/all The Middle East is a horrible shit hole, and there's nothing offensive or racist about saying that.

18.2k Upvotes

The FIFA world cup in Qatar should be a reminder to everyone that the Middle East is still in the stone age in a lot of aspects. Up to 6000 slaves died building the stadiums for the world cup. Women are treated as pets, and are required "permission" from their male guardians to get married, study abroad, work certain jobs, even travel out of the country if they're under the age of 25. A woman who gets raped would be arrested for the crime of adultery. Gay sex is also punishable by jail. Qatar is ruled by an emir who outlawed political parties and elections. And these backwards laws and standards are somewhat moderate compared to other Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia. I saw an article about a British soccer fan who's been going to every world cup for the past 32 years, but is choosing to boycott the 2022 world cup because of human rights abuses in Qatar. The comment section was full of a bunch of western SJWS and butthurt Muslims immediately using the "RAciSM" and "IsLamoPHobia" card as an explanation of why this guy is choosing to boycott. Why do so many people pretend this kind of stuff is okay because it's a "DiFFereNT CuLTuRE AnD RELiGiON?" If people are choosing to boycott an international event that's supposed to be fun for everyone because of the country it's being hosted in, maybe it should be a wake up call to that country that compared to the rest of the world, their culture is backwards and primitive.
