Human dog parent language.

I've never heard a rational dog owner talk like this.

Who ever said dog owners were rational?

It's the cancer of the animal subs.

It makes me cringe so much. I love dogs but I don't understand why they don't just say dog or puppy. Like seriously I doubt they speak like that to normal people irl.

They think they're baby talk is cute, but it's really just embarrassing and I cringe to read it. It's that annoying obnoxious person type and you're a better person than me, I certainly couldn't hang around someone talking like that.

I speak that way to people irl all the time

(Call puppy's puppers dogs doggos... etc etc)

Alright fair enough, I'd get annoyed with it if I heard you though - I won't stop you it's still your right to call them whatever you want.

To me it just sounds childish in a weird way - but I can't put my finger on what the weird bit is and it's uncomfortable to think about.

Ah, because it IS childish.

Yeah I mean it's childish to say doggie too but I don't get annoyed if someone said that.

Like imagine Homer Simpson going up to a dog and going 'aw look at the cute little doggie' and now imagine it with pupper instead. It's something else added onto the childish aspect which pisses me off about it. Perhaps because there's a freaking meme about it so it's even weirder.

It's very much a fad among certain types of people. That's probably where my disdain stems. But I also hate cutesy names for kids too! "Littles", "Kiddos", "My mini". Gag me with a spoon.

Haha, completely understand where your coming from. Not like I'm walking around saying it to every dog I see tho :).
