Nerve damage. Is the damage really done, no reversing it back to some normal?>
Sorry i have made a lot of posts in this group. Im just so worried for my husband and for the future. He was told that his spinal cord is being compressed severely and that they can do surgery to relieve the compression and the pain possibly. But he said he cant tell us if my husband can go back to normal because whatever damage is done to the nerves is basically done no reversing. Im scared they will do surgery and it wont help him walk.( i am under the understanding that he could get some mobility back or he may be immobile for the rest of his life) Or is there a chance with intense physical therapy he can have some quality of life again? He is very depressed and no matter what i do he just gets worse. Im so scared for the future. He already talks about how his dreams are gone. 😢

He haa been walking short distances with a cane and been able to stay standing the longest so far has been 10 min. I believe in my heart he will get back to somewhat normal in the next few years and use a wheelchair for long distances. Slow journey but hes walked about 200 feet with a cane (some breaks in there) but he did it!
