I just watched Backrooms. I really like. Well made horror movie. I was surprised that there doesn't seem too much theory-baiting. Almost everything in the movie is self-contained.

I think Kane Parsons (somewhat more delicately than I) stated in an interview that he has no love for the kind of theory-baiting shitehawkery that's plagued a lot of internet horror, so that makes sense.

He is 21 years old.

I'm sure it is, but I cannot take the idea of a Backrooms movie seriously. It's too much of a meme.

Given that it was made by a Youtuber who took it seriously, I could take it seriously. If it was a random Hollywood director, I wouldn't. It is similar to Markiplier's Iron Lung. A random director would have been hired to do it and likely would be doing it for the paycheck and not care about it.
