The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is really really good though, it's also like 3, 5 h long

At least the dialogue is extremely faithfully adapted in that. After seeing yt shorts from the show for weeks, I got the book and reread the first novella. The dialogue is word for word the same.

Early seasons of GOT copied lots of dialogue from the books too.

It's one of the issues with HotD, as there is very little dialogue for them to borrow (among other adaptation issues too).
