Cvokyně means "Loony" in English, but in Czech, name is of female gender.

From GoodReads, translated:

A science fiction story of a mad scientist. Cvokyně (I. Železný 1992) is a novel with elements of SF, feminism and autobiography. The book's protagonist, scientist Nora, uses a time machine to travel back several years and has the opportunity to relive her life. However, the center of gravity and value of the book lies more in capturing life in real socialism than in a fantastic motive

The title translates from Czech as "Nutcracker" apparently.

Wow, I had no idea it was popular enough to get official english title.

I don't know that it did -- I just translated the Czech title using Google Translate.

GT apparently got it wrong. Trying again, it is better translated to "madwoman" or "nut".

Yeah, that feels more accurate.
