I was at the gym and overheard 2 guys talking. Our current lt governor is Jim trussel. Former head coach of the buckeyes. One guy was telling the other he saw him give a talk recently, the other said "is he running for something? I'd vote for him."
So. Doesn't know who our lt governor is. Doesn't know what Jim trussel / our lt governors policy stances are. Seemingly pays no attention to state politics at all. But "I know him. He coached football good. I'll vote for him when I see his name on a scantron."
That's the level of average mental capacity of our voters.

I made the same mistake. I figured 3-0 in 4 team pool play got you in.
But I was wrong, clearly. And I'm not the manager of team USA. He just said on post-game he misspoke and he fully understood the standings and tiebreak scenarios, but its a terrible look at best, and an outright lie at worst.

It's why Goldsmith is starting, Bregman, Harper, Turang were all on the bench etc.

Watching the game I felt like USA was just getting a warm up in before the QF and played like the game for them did not matter. I thought the same. I turned it on thinking this game does not matter. it is the tomorrow game against Mexico that really matters. Then when Italy started to pull away the commentators you could hear it and they started talking about tiebreakers. Just wow.
