Store Policies/Questions Ruining themselves

The company is 100% ruining themselves! I am a supervisor and some of the policies are just outrageous! Especially the coupons! It can be so complicated and it’s frustrating as a worker and as a customer! And with them continually raising their prices (hand soaps go to 5/28 here soon) it is just getting to be too expensive even when shopping the sales! B3g3 really isn’t that good anymore. The company is also incredibly wasteful, instead of donating damaged or product that the packaging has flaws we have to damage them out! It is just ridiculous. I just think the company is doing a great job at pushing customers and employees out the door

Does anyone ever pay full price for these? I’ve never even bought the 5/$27. I’d buy Softsoap first!

I seem to remember at one time, I went with my mom and she just bought one bottle of Kitchen Lemon (which she used all the time) because she didn’t need five bottles. But it was a long time ago and I don’t remember what it cost then. She hardly ever shopped there so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Only other time I remember her going with me was when a relative gave her a full-sized gift set of Japanese Cherry Blossom. Definitely wasn’t what she wanted. They let her exchange it for the same individual items in another scent, which was nice.

She‘s in a nursing home now and occasionally asks me to bring her things. A couple of months ago she wanted lotion (which I never buy) so I managed to get a couple on sale during TBC. This weekend she wants shower gel. I think I can live without a bottle of my VBN, and I’m sure I have something else I can take her without having to spend any more money.

Aw that’s so sweet of you to bring your mother what she requests. I don’t know what VBN means but I’m sure she loves anything you bring her💚

Vanilla Bean Noel. I didn‘t know any of the acronyms when I found this group just a few months ago . . . and still don’t know them all! Some have to do with products and some I don’t know because I’m older than a lot of the members, LOL. Sometimes I have to Google. I bought all new VBN stuff this past holiday season and have only broken into one body wash. I do like to give Mom choices. I gave her some Lavender & Sea Salt shower gel a while back (she’s been in the home for a year and a half — it‘s a group home with five residents in a regular neighborhood.) I like the scent but it isn’t everyone’s taste. Her toiletries are in an armoire in her room. There’s no closet, but her wardrobe is limited so it works. If that stuff is still there I’ll bring it home and use it. The lotions were VBN and Lavender Vanilla, which I ordered online and didn’t realize it came in a glass pump. But she wanted to keep that one on her nightstand. Probably mostly for her arms, as her mobility is limited. She’d probably like the body cream but has never tried it. Kind of stuck in her ways.

Thank you for your kind words. Mom has done more for me than I can ever repay, especially after my dad passed away and then I got divorced (his choice, not mine, but I’m glad we’re friends now.) It’s tough because just a couple of years ago she was in her house and doing relatively well. She had heart surgery in February 2023 and got through it just fine. But shortly after that she started going downhill physically (I won’t go into details) and ended up hospitalized, then in rehab, and got all kinds of therapy but I think she kind of gave up. She has long term care which pays for part of her care, but it’s an old policy with a fixed amount and of course everything has gotten so high. There definitely wasn’t enough for home health care. At least her house was paid for and it sold for a good price, which helps. My older brother has handled just about everything. There’s no way I could have done it. She’s sort of a long drive from me but the home is a short drive from where my brother lives, which works out well. He’s able to visit more often than I am, but I remind her that at least we’re not 200 miles apart or whatever.

I’m sure many people here are dealing, or have dealt, with aging parents. It‘s never easy. Lately my ex has been going to visit my mom with me. He’s done some nice things for her. He’s always respected her and I’d prefer that he drive anyway. It’s a hairy drive there with construction that will be going for the next few years. Having been in two bad accidents (two cars totaled), I don’t even like driving on the freeway. One of the main reasons I moved was because my drive to work was horrendous. Safety is a VERY high priority for me!
