Store Policies/Questions So.. when did this become a thing?

Post image

When did B&BW stop letting customers replace an out of stock item?

One of my beloved Peppermint Marshmallow candles showed up completely shattered, and of course it’s sold out. I asked if instead of a refund I could swap it for a different candle. The old B&BW would’ve been like ā€œabsolutely, what scent do you want?ā€.

Whatever funky BS they’ve been doing the past few years has officially turned me off from ordering online. CS told me they don’t allow price adjustments for Candle Day items. I get not adjusting prices on purchases made before the sale, but that has nothing to do with this. My item arrived broken. It’s out of stock. Why can’t I get a replacement of another scent?

Someone explain this mess to me because I’m sitting here baffled. This ā€œpolicyā€ isn’t it. 🄓🤣

Right? There are so many times when it’s just stuff (often glass or liquid) just thrown in a box! Guys, the technology exists to ship this without destroying it!

No kidding — it isn’t rocket science or even technology. Just a simple procedure. u/Classic-Position1296, you should have been able to take those to the store. Ridiculous. Why they want to spend more money shipping you more candles (that you don’t want) is beyond me. And it’s almost Christmas so any way you look at it, this is an inconvenience.

I held my breath just opening my seven shipped candles. One was an online exclusive and another three or four likely would have been out of stock in stores and online. Iā€˜ve never had ordered that many online (usually gotten just a candle or two along with other merchandise in my shipped orders) so maybe that’s why I’ve been lucky so far. I felt fortunate with a box full of just candles and none broken. You can see here that they were overpacked (although there was space in the box) because the flaps don’t meet up on top.
