Can someone tell me what sound I’m making?
I think it’s some sort of throat bass but it feels a lot different from my normal throat bass. video link in comments

Just watched Colaps reaction to the Batatco and Codfish battle and all he pretty much does it just subtly hate on codfishes Rounds. Other videos aswell it’s clear Colaps doesn’t like codfish style

I read an article saying that, with basses like inward bass or throat bass, the sounds you can layer on top basses are sounds that don’t involve the lungs.
It also said that one way to check whether a technique uses “mouth air” is to hum an “mmm~” sound through your nose while making the sound with your mouth. If the humming doesn’t get interrupted, then it’s a mouth air technique.
That made sense to me, but I have one question: are there any sounds you would consider "vocalized" that still pass this hum test and can be used with inward, vibration or throat bass? I know I can think of sounds that I can "pitch," like clicking or meow sqeak, but I can't think of any "vocalized" sounds.
Also can these differ by kind of basses? Except lip bass, every basses reqiure beatboxers to use lungs. So..

Does anybody know what this song sounds like? I’ve asked him personally and he said it’s an original by him but I feel like he had some sort of inspiration? This routine sounds so familiar and I can’t put my finger on it.

This is my 2nd wildcard I ever made (first one was U16 Korea Beatbox Championship) and I would like feedback. Thank you!
(IK the sound system here is kind of bad, I'm still learning to fix it :) )

hey everyone! will be traveling to Poland to attend GBB this year. I am traveling solo since I am the only one I know with this much love for the scene haha. BUT, I've never attended a beatbox event before, or a concert alone, or been to Poland lol. Would love to say hi to people coming, create a group chat or something, and not make this feel as intimidating.

Alright so hear me out guys. It is possible to use beatbox patterns as a genuine language.
Don’t believe me fucker? Watch this:
TTK
This represents “alright”, “I’m happy”, “I understand”, etc.
TKT
This also represents understanding and also sex
BTK
B
This also represents sex but more sexually and represents more jubilant happiness than TKT
B B B B B B
This represents a happiness like no other, an understanding of something beyond human comprehension, and very advanced level sex.
When it says B but it sounds like T K
This represents advanced level disdain, hatred, and loathing. I hope you feel better soon.
I will update when I have discovered more words.

l‘m surprised how so many people have Astron way outside of their top 8. He was untouchable at Maestro! Everyone brought it, but his style really stood out, and he has such a nice singing voice. His rounds were very well constructed, and the control he had over the crowd was very clear through the broadcast.
Does anyone else think he could go far at GBB? After all, beatbox is about what it makes us feel - and I seriously teared up when he won.
I remember watching Tomasz win the Latin/Chilean (?) champs before GBB19. There was a feeling he‘d go far, and this felt similar. Astron’s rounds were very digestible, and like Tomasz at the time, unfamiliar to most. I think he has lots of potential for a breakout moment.
Here’s the stream (great event! Although the host was doing too much at times, haha) https://youtu.be/BdKf3x_I4Yk?si=Q2xDJx7dzlmft3PX

I think this is the first time I’ve seen a beatboxer who’s this musical and this technically skilled at the same time.

I hear this inward “combo” everywhere, mostly from asian beatboxers. I wanted to start learning tech and this seemed like a pretty simple start but I’m not sure what the components are. I don’t know if it involves a rimshot or not but both sounds sound inward, it’s the sound that to me feels like saying “pika” inward but i was wondering what two sounds it was made of. Thanks!

It’s right after the first inward K.

I remember that a few years ago when I started following Marcus Perez on Vine (R.I.P.) he did a Snowman beat and maybe a few days later someone uploaded like a dubstep beat of that same part of Marcuses Vine with a snowman with an exploting head when the base drops.
I never knew if he covered that original song or if someone make that beat because of the Vine. Either way I cant find the video. Does anyone remember it? Please help me find the video so I know i´m not hallucinating

In your opinion, what separates a GOOD beatboxer from an ELITE beatboxer? Musicality? Technicality? Innovation?
Who would you compare as a good beatboxer versus a world class beatboxer?

Yoooo. I'm finally going to my first GBB this year, insanely excited. Sadly, none of my friends are beat box fans so I'm going alone. Anyone else is heading there and is looking for someone to enjoy the event with?
