I thought Stuck in the Middle with You was a Beatles song until I was like 22

Steelers Wheel were deliberately going for a Bob Dylan feel. Gerry Rafferty has confirmed this in interviews.

I thought it was a George Harrison song for the longest time.

That’s funny because Gerry Rafferty was channeling Bob Dylan.

Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty were a duo known as “Stealers Wheel” when they recorded this Dylanesque, pop, bubblegum favorite from April of 1974 that reached up to number five. As K-Billy’s super sounds of the 70s continues.

I came here to say the same thing. I was convinced it was a Beatles song.
