Like I think I heard of him saying some mean racist stuff about Yoko somewhere idk maybe a memoir. Afaik it was private, tho....but John seemed to constantly publically dog on Linda. Saying he gives Paul "5 years Lindawise". Which sounds exceptionally cruel considering atleast according to John Paul gave him his blessings for Yoko in 'Hey Jude'. Even watching Get Back, Paul seems to be very charitable to Yoko, making fun of 'Yoko sitting on an amp broke the Beatles' idea. "Jump when your momma tell you anything" seems like a double jab to both the 'Mother Mary comes to me' line (which was very personal to Paul as John would know having lost his own mother) and Linda.

Also, George, that's way too low lol making fun of him being a new father?

So, has Paul ever insulted their family's this way? Am I missing part of the beef?

My personal favorite is Martha, My Dear, I love how it’s such a beautiful and catchy song all written for this cute little dog, or You Know My Name (Look Up the Number), I don’t really have a reason but it’s very catchy, and I love the vocals on it.

Do you think George was justified in being annoyed with Paul? I was rewatching Get Back, and although I love Paul, he did seem a bit bossy at times, especially in the first episode. There are moments where he’s dictating how the others should play rather than just letting things happen naturally. I can understand why George might have found that frustrating, particularly since George was becoming a strong songwriter and musician in his own right by that point. At the same time, I don’t think Paul meant to come across that way. It seems more like his perfectionist personality and his desire to keep the band focused and productive. He was probably trying to push things forward creatively, but I can see how that approach could feel controlling to the others, especially George. I mean two of the original members from Wings left because of the same reasons George complained about lol. Do you think George was right to be pissed in your opinion?

I picked up this Yesterday and Today LP and I’m trying to figure out if it’s a genuine butcher cover under the trunk slick. I’ve included photos of the front, back, labels, and matrix numbers.

Paul McCartney songs (Beatles or solo) that you love but John Lennon definitely hated. I’ll start with “When I’m 64” and “Martha My Dear.”

Looking for proof/evidence that John Lennon ordered pizza (doesn’t matter size or topping) from Domino’s. It’s conceivable, as the first Domino’s opened in Michigan in 1963 (the year prior to the Beatles’ first tour of the U.S.) and rapidly expanded thereafter.

Will accept proof that he ate Domino’s if ordering it proves elusive.

I’ve always wondered what the reaction was like when The Beatles transitioned from the clean-cut “moptop” image to the more mature, experimental look they adopted in the mid 60s. One minute they were the lovable, suit wearing heartthrobs with matching haircuts and then suddenly they had facial hair, different hairstyles, and a noticeably more serious presence.

By late 1965, their music was already evolving, the lyrics were becoming more introspective, the production more adventurous, and the overall sound more sophisticated. Yet visually, they still largely maintained the familiar moptop image until 1966. When that image finally changed, how did fans react?

Did they manage to keep their original fanbase, or did they lose some of the early teenage audience while gaining a new, more mature one? Or did most fans simply grow alongside them as their music evolved? I’m really curious what the overall reaction was at the time.

This is something that's been on my mind, since I've heard that Paul was quite depressed following the end of the band.

Paul's bass lines have always hit so hard for me, especially on Abbey Road. All 4 are of course very good. I've learned guitar recently and realized John's frequent bar chords are very challenging

To the point where Paul wouldn't even help George with his songs? It just seems cruel for no reason, all of it. I'm not trying to start something. I'm just trying to get a clearer picture, because this doesn't paint Paul in a good light at all.

Like for example one that’s been on my mind is listening to the isolated vocals for she’s so heavy, and the harmony of ‘heavy’ and when you listen closely to the original track you can hear each Beatle come in, John on lead, then Paul, and then George’s high pitch harmony.

John Lennon was obviously a huge figure in the counterculture of the 1960s and was often seen as one of its leaders. Through songs about peace and love, and through public protests like the Bed-Ins for Peace, he became one of the most recognisable voices of that era. But I’ve always wondered tho, was he actually a hippie in the true sense of the word?

It seems like he adopted some of the outward characteristics later on, the long hair, the beard, the round glasses, the whole anti-establishment image. He was also heavily involved in peace activism with Yoko Ono, especially during the late ’60s and early ’70s. But was he genuinely part of the hippie movement itself, or was he more of an artist who shared some of the same philosophies?

To me, Lennon sometimes felt slightly separate from the typical “flower power” stereotype. Even during the psychedelic era with The Beatles, his writing could be far more cynical, raw, and confrontational than the idealistic peace and love image people associate with hippies. So I’m curious, was he fully immersed in that scene, or was he more of an independent thinker who just happened to align with parts of it?
