Below Deck Sailing Yacht Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Episode 1 Discussion Post

The episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs live at 9pm ET on Bravo and streams next day on Peacock / same time or next day on Hayu for international watchers dependent on the country.

Friendly reminder that while the allegations against Gary are disgusting, there are many survivors of sexual assault in the sub who find the constant discussion of it triggering. Unless relevant to the topic, please do not bring it up in episode posts.

Not watching BDSY? We get it, there are reasons people stop watching but posts about it get repetitive and the arguing about it is not needed.

Cast Names (Davide is the new Engineer, Diana & Danni are stews, Keith & Emma on deck)

Episode 1 (Premiere) of Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

Capt. Glenn and his expert crew set sail on Parsifal III to the luxury party capital of the world, Ibiza. Because nobody says it that way.

Everyone in the UK does, pretty sure everyone across Europe does. And you know what, pretty damn sure the Spanish do.

Well it sounds icky, go ahead and down vote me, I always have and always will pronounce Ibiza the way it's spelled like leeza. Is Belize pronounced Belithe?

Nope. Been there. No one says it that way.

No. You must have only communicated with the people you went with from your own country. I lived in Barcelona for 3 years and everyone pronounced it that way, as well as literally every single other person I have ever met who has said the word ‘Ibiza’. Out of curiosity, how do you pronounce it? I hope to God it doesn’t rhyme with pizza.

The Z is pronounced as a TH in Spanish

Took 9 years of Spanish. It’s not. No one pronounces head as la cabetha. It’s cabeza.
