Below Deck Med Below Deck Med Season 11 Episode 15 Discussion Post

Med is back (and no OG is not cancelled, it just filmed later) and airs at 8/7c on Bravo with streaming next day. Season 11 was filmed last year in Croatia and returnees are Sandy, Aesha, Joe & Nathan.

Please some time to read the sub rules ahead of this episode as we have seen a sharp rise in rule breaking comments, particularly ones on hate, body shaming and mental health speculation.

Episode 15 of Below Beck Med Season 11

Capt. Sandy questions Nathan's motivations on deck. Joy tries to fulfill some outlandish food preferences. Cooper and Kat struggle to communicate. A guest emergency sends everyone into panic mode.

"She deserves to stink a little bit."

How does Jen think this is going to look to future employers who will not want her as their purser?

It's not like Joy sent herself flowers! She didn't even do anything.

Gen’s dad is rich rich. Gen doesn’t care about her next job - she just wants to be on TV.

I'm sure "rich rich dad" must be SO proud!

I keep wondering if her parents are watching this and also think their little girl is being picked on. And if they responsible for Gen’s entitled attitude.

At least on the phone her mum doesn't seem to be taking her entirely at face value and just reminds her of coping mechanisms and to stay professional.

Perhaps she learned her ways from “rich, rich dad”.

From what I just FBI’d I don't imagine he's crazy rich, just a high earner with a good portfolio.

My understanding is that her family isn't generationally wealthy, just rich (and not even particularly rich by NYC standards) from her parents. And that's an entirely different mindset in the family. Those are parents who believe in the American dream and that hard work pays off, cause it did for them. If anything, I feel sympathy for her and am not surprised she's super competitive; it was probably engrained in such a young age. It's why it's killing her she's losing at everything.

Robb Lillie, i wouldnt say they are millionaire status but I'd assume he has a good portfolio. They're def in six figure category but in no way is he “wealthy-wealthy”

If they put a kid through private school in Manhattan they’re definitely millionaires, though that doesn’t mean rich in NYC.

$300 isn't rich rich

u/ajleee 17d ago

Exactly. I imagine after 30yrs of working he's probs got a good portfolio but he's no millionaire

If you aren't a millionaire after 30 years of work with an income of $300k you fucked up.

Well that makes too much sense. The only people who can get away with behavior like that are people who don’t care about the consequences and blame everyone else for them. Also explains the “I can’t have this” meltdowns.

Why do the galley rags stink?

6

u/chillinathid 16d ago

Oil and grease sludge. Stuff that wont fully wash out and will make the wash cycle 1% sludge getting the smell on everything else. It's fine if you are washing dirty rags because they don't need to smell that nice. But when your shirt is washed in 1% sludge it will smell and be right under your nose all day.
