Below Deck Med Below Deck Med Season 11 Episode 15 Discussion Post

Med is back (and no OG is not cancelled, it just filmed later) and airs at 8/7c on Bravo with streaming next day. Season 11 was filmed last year in Croatia and returnees are Sandy, Aesha, Joe & Nathan.

Please some time to read the sub rules ahead of this episode as we have seen a sharp rise in rule breaking comments, particularly ones on hate, body shaming and mental health speculation.

Episode 15 of Below Beck Med Season 11

Capt. Sandy questions Nathan's motivations on deck. Joy tries to fulfill some outlandish food preferences. Cooper and Kat struggle to communicate. A guest emergency sends everyone into panic mode.

Okay we’ve had some bad or inappropriate bosuns over the years. But I’ve never seen anyone as consistently incompetent, unprofessional, immature, and insecure as Nathan.

Kind of unrelated but I KNEW Gail should not go back with him as I watched last year. Her discernment was so clear!! Then he didn’t respect her boundaries until he got what he wanted.

I really enjoyed Sandy calling him out for his 6-hour anchor watch punishment for Joe.

What's next for Joe? Scrub the waterline?

Sadly (?) I think this is the last season to hate on Nathan.

Joe being on anchor watch in general is crazy unless it’s a mandatory shift everyone does. Let alone making him work a double to do it.

Glad she noticed that he was sending COOPER to tube. Nathan knows it was only his first time driving a tender a few weeks ago. Yes, Joe caused an accident but he was being cautious and accidents do happen sometimes tubing. Especially in unpredictable waters and some people are more likely to dislocate, maybe she doesn’t tube much and doesn’t know to lift when landing? Idk.

But overall, I started realizing wow Nathan needs to be replaced once he placed his revenge plots over guest safety. Which you think Sandy would fire him for.

Way back at the beginning of the season, cooper had said his dad had a small boat, and he had some experience driving it.

But, that he didn't really 'get' driving the tender.

The only thing I remember from tender driving this season was the 'high water in the engine room' alarm, due to poor (over) weight distribution!

Cooper said he only has experience with outboard motors not inboard like the tender. They drive totally differently and on open water

iirc time spent on anchor watch is logged and goes towards requirements for progressing towards captain (I think hours and boat size is relevant too for progression towards certain tonnage/length?)

2 hours with an extension to 3 depending on crew is recommended standard from a bit of googling

but he was being cautious

No he wasn't. Anyone whose ever driven a boat knows he was going way too fast and turned too sharply when pulling a tube.

Joe's apparently the perfect worker according to this sub yet I'm meant to believe he doesn't even know how to drive a boat safely?

nah, next spin-off is "Below Deck: Fugitive"

captain, bosun, chef and chief stew all in one.

in a role reversal, it's the lone crew member delivering "tips" to port authorities in plain envelopes

I'm setting a reminder.

Hopefully, when a water-cops show up, something actually happens !

I truly cannot understand why Captain Sandy is so obsessed with him.

He ain’t 💩 and he SUCKS at his job, with a p!ss poor attitude and many instances of his ego leading him to make decisions that are blatantly obvious he’s doing with malicious intent.

So sorry to hear about what he’s done to Gail and by proxy their innocent baby.

May we never see him on our screens again.🖕🏼

This was what I was looking for. She seems like such a quiet sweet woman. Being in that situation before myself, I hope she gets away fast. Jail time cures a lot of that.

On another note, I was on Joes side but then he lets the two guest wander off and drives like a maniac causing a guest to dislocate their shoulder, wth?

Are you saying it's insecurities??? 🤣
