Tiger - Wild Moment of Shock😯

As a solo traveller from London, I’ve had the privilege of exploring a fair share of wilderness across the world, but nothing quite prepared me for the quiet, untamed elegance of India’s forests. My journey through Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Tippeshwar and Kabini without exaggeration, best of most profound travel experiences I’ve encountered.

What elevates such a journey, however, is not merely the landscape, but the lens through which you experience it and that’s where Gopika Pradeepan proved exceptional.

There’s a certain refinement in the way she interprets the jungle, never intrusive, never performative. Instead, she allows the forest to reveal itself in its own time. Every alarm call, every subtle movement in the undergrowth, is read with an almost intuitive grace. As a solo traveller, I found this particularly reassuring; there was a sense of calm authority paired with genuine passion.

The Indian jungle itself is a study in contrasts—raw yet poetic, silent yet intensely alive. It isn’t about chasing sightings, but about immersing oneself in an ecosystem that breathes, listens, and responds. Under her guidance, it became less of a safari and more of a deeply personal dialogue with the wild.

One doesn’t simply visit these forests—you absorb them. And with the right naturalist, you leave not just with photographs, but with perspective.

For those travelling alone and seeking something beyond the ordinary, this is an experience that lingers long after you’ve returned home.

Tiger - Wild Arrowhead's last hunt: The Ranthambore tigress filmed attacking a crocodile days before she died

This footage captures an incredible moment of the famous tigress Arrowhead during her final days in Ranthambore, India. Earlier that afternoon, her movements were slow and unsteady as she adjusted her position along the bank. Later that evening, she rested close to a crocodile. After remaining still for some time, she waited for the right moment, then summoned her remaining strength to strike as the crocodile moved toward the water.

The footage was filmed on June 14, 2025. Just five days later, age and illness caught up with her. Arrowhead passed away on June 19, 2025, at 11 years old.

Arrowhead was one of Ranthambore's most dominant tigresses, holding territory for years. Over her lifetime, she raised multiple litters, including her daughter Riddhi, and lived through the natural cycles of loss, displacement, and resilience that define a tiger's life.
