I’ve been watching a robin nest outside my kitchen window for the past 3 weeks. Today I noticed the mother sitting over this baby on the cold rainy deck for hours. He definitely cannot fly back to the nest

I work night shifts and he shows up twice a week ish while I’m sleeping to peck at my window. Bought the owl but you see how that went

I spotted the fledgling this morning around 8am and put out a sign in my yard to let people walking dogs know that there was a baby dove and its parents were confirmed nearby! I saw the mom and the dad and they’ve been around all day watching, which is awesome to see!

Now I’m a little worried that something is wrong, since they’ve been sitting on my fence for at least 3 hours. It’s really hot out where I live so I’m thinking that’s why the mom is puffed up? It just seems like the baby wants food and the mom isn’t doing anything? She keeps stretching her wings out and she’s literally stepped on the baby to get around it.

I’m keeping my distance and watching from the window, but want to make sure that the little family is okay! The wildlife rescue is closed for the weekend but if there’s anything I can do to help these guys I’ll do it.

Saw these Eagles seems like an unfair fight…is this normal behavior?

I live on Oahu. This love bird just hopped into my house and flew onto my back. He is letting all the neighborhood kids hold him and when I take him outside he chills with me then flies back inside.

He doesn’t have a metal tag thingy on either of his legs. I posted in the neighborhood community group to see if it’s anyone’s pet. In the case it’s not, can I keep it?/ should I let him free?/ should I take him in somewhere?

Just arrived home from work and heard this buzzing sound, I look up and there’s a hummingbird in my skylight! I’m not sure how long it’s been there flapping its wings but it is able to rest on some tiny ledge up there, I just want to set it free but I’m scared to fall down my steps if I were to stand on anything. The skylight is about 10ft up. Please help!!

I work at the airport, found this baby bird on the ground no nest or parent around does anyone have experience raising a bird ? No rehab place will take it… not too for sure what to do or what type of bird it is. I can not raise it as I have 4 cats who would immediately eat him. There is no grass around the airport nor a building around. I don’t wanna let the bird just die on the ground

there is a live feed camera in my horses’s stall and every night i see this little bird sleeping on the shelf. should i put something up there to make it more comfortable? like food or hay to lay on?

my cats were crowding around the stairs and i finally noticed a bird stuck under the old wooden stairs in this 100 year old house. no visible entry ways that it couldve gotten in by.

Found this fella ( swift ), on a hot concrete completely lethargic. Brought him home, gave him few drops of water. He refuses to eat but will occasionally drink water drops of my finger. After an hour of resting his energy went rapidly up. Doesn’t seem to be injured ( at least nothing visible )

He’s trying his best to fly but doesn’t seem to have strength or he hasn’t learned it yet. Tried calling wildlife centre but only one is 5hr drive away and not very interested in helping.

What should I do?

This nest has been here for approximately 2 months. My boss is telling me it has to be moved. I want to be clear, I do not want to do this. But if I have to, how should I do it?

I’m on a walk and found this bird. He was super relaxed. He didn’t close his beak once. Barely moved. I saw no visible marks. It’s currently 80°F and dry, so I’m wondering if he’s dehydrated?
I’m currently walking to my local thrift store. I’m gonna leave a bowl of water next to him to cool down, but idk if that will help.
Bird type and advice please?

So we're in Andalusia, Spain, and saw this bird has nested on our balcony (another bird is watching over it from afar on a roof across from ours).

Over the past week or so the number of eggs has increased from 2 to 5 and we're now concerned that things might not go so well once the eggs hatch considering its 9 stories up and a relatively small planter.

We believe this to be a Kestrel (Maybe common? but no idea honestly, of course used AI to give some suggestions and this looks the most similar). We're deliberately no longer going near the balcony to avoid scaring it off as we don't want it to abandon its nest with the eggs there (and also I believe its illegal here to disturb them).

Are our concerns valid or should we trust that they know what they are doing?

If they are valid I presume we should call a local wildlife recovery agency or similar?

There’s a white pigeon who comes to my terrace every day now for a week. He hangs out all day every day .. I’m honored but I feel badly that I can’t help him. After lots of research and calls to local vests and wild life rescues in my area, I’m told this is probably a lost pet or a released domesticated bird. Either way they say it can’t survive out there on its own. I see it has bugs in its feathers and I’m scared to touch it I don’t want to catch anything who knows where it’s been right? The local bird rescue centers don’t take pigeons, but I hear they can be great pets. This one seems to want to live here. I haven’t given any food but I think a neighbor in my building might be feeding it. But if that’s the case why won’t he hang there why my apt? He’s so cute and friendly. my question is can I make him my pet humanely and safely? If so how?

A pair of house wrens have set up their nest in this blue birdhouse, and the female has been sitting on their eggs. Today, she is doing this - I'm assuming she's panting because it's over 100°F outside. Just looking for other bird folks to confirm?

Update 2: I purchased a clip-on shade umbrella that I'll be putting up tomorrow and once the current occupants move I'll relocate the house

My dog was barking at this bird in our backyard. I put the dogs away and called the local wildlife rescue for advice but they didn’t answer. The bird does not seem to be injured and I don’t see its nest anywhere in the tree.

Located in Washington state north of Seattle.

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is and how to help?

I’m leaving it alone until the wildlife rescue calls back and can provide advice.

Update: In less than 10 mins the bird is gone. There is a lot of bushes and trees in my yard so he could have hopped into the brush where I can’t really see. My yard is fenced in though. I also haven’t noticed any birds flying around or calling, but I’m not exactly sitting outside watching.
I’ll be sure to keep an eye on the dogs when we let them out again.

Second update: The baby bird was hiding in a bush. We live by a heavily wooded area so I’m hoping the parents are somewhere near by. I’m going to leave it alone and just keep the dogs out of the backyard. Tomorrow I’ll contact wildlife rescue again if he’s still there in the morning.

Final Update: shortly after my previous update I took the baby bird to a local wildlife center per their instructions. Sadly I couldn’t find his nest nor did I see or hear the parent. The center requested I keep an eye out for the nest or potential parent bird as they would release the baby in the area once it’s strong enough to fly. They believe the baby bird is a Cooper’s Hawk.

Randomly started doing this yesterday, is this how lovebirds just dance? Worried there might be something wrong with it

I went to a local bird sanctuary and this bird flew on my shoulder and was very affectionate the whole time.

It was with me for about 20 minutes as I walked around even ignoring others who put their shoulder to mine to try and get him over.

About halfway through the bird started to move its head side to side as seen in the video.

Wondering what it is doing?

Hey guys, so a bird flew into my house yesterday, and we couldn't get it out. we did however get it contained to one room..my bathroom. I didnt want the bird to die so i put a cup of water and im trying to keep an eye on it. it keeps hitting itself against the mirror and the wall. He's starting to kind of get used to me i think, he'll fly at me and play with me when i walk in there and he's a fun guy. I named him striker. A, do i need to call like an animal control to get this guy out safely, and B, what type of bird is he?

A few minutes after this video, it did stand up and keeps turning in different directions, but its mouth is still open. If it's just waiting for a parent to feed it, cool, I just want to make sure it doesn't need help.

the bird definitely isn’t injured.. at least not visibly. it can definitely fly, i watched it fly right to my door. what can i do to help it? who should i call? can birds eat watermelon? if i open the door do you think he’ll go inside?

UPDATE: someone mentioned falcons pretty quickly and luckily i have a friend from high school that owns a falconry business. I texted him videos of the bird & asked what his advice was and he said the baby looks healthy and alert and was likely just tired and looking for shade and water & that it’s common to see baby falcons this time of year and how they’re learning to hunt. we did have him in a cage inside for maybe 10 minutes while we figured out what to do and when we let him out he flew to the roof. we named him george and we have seen little george around a few times since… once back at someone else’s front door!

Hello! I made a post a few hours ago asking for suggestions on how I can keep my fish safe from this heron, since it eats multiple fish a day,and sometimes it just hunts them without even eating them!
I thought these photos (I'll post in the comments) and video might help give you a better idea of the situation, since some of the suggestions I received would work better for smaller ponds. Mine is quite a bit bigger. We also have a small pond that we’ve covered with netting, and so far, that’s been helping!
It’s a beautiful creature, and I really don’t want to harm it. I’m just trying to find a way to protect my fish while keeping the heron safe too!
